The British royal family once again turned out in force at Royal Ascot today -
with Prince Charles and Camilla leading the carriage procession for the second
day of the glamorous event. Her Majesty, 96, missed today's event amid her
ongoing mobility issues. The Queen has been at every Royal Meeting since
acceding to the throne in 1952, apart from when it was held behind closed doors
in 2020. Instead, the Prince of Wales, 73, and Duchess of Cornwall, 74, were in
attendance alongside a host of other royals - including Princess Anne, 71, The
Earl and Countess of Wessex, and Princess Beatrice, 33, who was joined by her
husband Edoardo Mapelli-Mozzi, 38. The Queen's daughter-in-law, Sophie, cut an
elegant figure in a blue lace dress from Suzannah, while Beatrice opted for a
sophisticated white frock with a matching hat, featuring a navy brim. Camilla
looked equally radiant in a white ensemble. Just over a week after the Platinum
Jubilee celebrations ended, members of the royal family appeared in high
spirits, with many taking part in the carriage procession, before greeting
one-another in the warm summer sunshine at the racecourse.

Wayne Humphreys, 77, was captured overtaking a cyclist via GoPro camera on a
country road while driving his white Audi Q8 (L-R) in Wales last year.
The cyclist reported the incident to roads policing team GoSafe, which is a road
casualty reduction partnership that encourages motorists to drive legally and
safely. It enables the public to upload video evidence and complete a statement
about an offence they have witnessed, which is subsequently sent police where
they review the footage and decide if any offences detected can be prosecuted.
Warehouse boss Mr Humphreys was contacted over the manoeuvre but refused to
accept any wrongdoing and did not attend a course or pay a fixed penalty notice.
He was prosecuted at Cardiff Magistrates Court for driving without due care and
attention, given four penalty points, and ordered to pay £1,887 in a fine
alongside the court and solicitor costs.

Trading standards officers from Westminster Council have raided some of the
deluge of tacky, overpriced US-themed sweet and souvenir shops that have been

Magistrates' Court and was due to be sentenced in April. But the hearing was
adjourned for two months as his family had paid for him to undergo expensive
rehab at a private Midlands clinic. After completing his treatment, magistrates
gave him a 46 month driving ban, a £400 fine and ordered him to carry out 150
hours unpaid work. His case bears striking similarities to that of his younger
brother Oliver George (inset).

Propagandist Vladimir Solovyov - aka 'Putin's Voice' - concluded in a discussion
on Kremlin State TV over a Brit volunteer fighter dying in Ukraine that 'Britain
is at war with us'. He was talking to Russian political scientist Vladimir
Kornilov on a leading Russian propaganda show about the death of Jordan Gatley.
Kornilov claimed the volunteer fighter's father said he left the British Army to
'serve elsewhere' and Britain is now 'glorifying these mercenaries as heroes'.
He then declared the UK is 'admitting the fact of war' with Russia (main) to
which Solovyov replied on Russia-1: 'So - de facto - Britain is at war with us.'
This comes as former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev (inset)- a close ally of
Vladimir Putin - suggested Ukraine would not exist on the world map in two
years' time.

were planning a baby shower for Dodd for the end of this month - and were
gathering gifts together ahead of the birth in late July. Noel, who is now

and she awkwardly pulled away from him. Beckham, 47, on the other hand, took his
10-year-old daughter Harper with him to Venice, Italy, for a 'special' holiday
last week. She seemed to not mind when the soccer player put his arm around her
for a warm embrace as they took a boat ride through the European city on Sunday.
Both dads earned viral fame after bonding with their daughters, with fans taking
to social media to gush over the close bonds they share with their little girls.

The famous Whitelock's Ale House (shown left), in Leeds, is one of two to have
had its listed status upgraded from Grade-II to Grade-II* - the second highest
level - as part of a project to help save rare pub interiors. Two others are
listed for the first time, whilst a further seven already-protected drinking
venues - including the MPs' favourite The Red Lion in Westminster - have had
their listings updated to highlight historic elements of their interiors,
meaning they are now further protected. Also among those seven is the Bridge Inn
in Topsham, Exeter, which was the first pub in nearly 40 years to be officially
visited by the Queen in 1998 (top right). Two other London pubs - the Admiral
Vernon in Daghenham and the Blythe Hill Tavern in Forest Hill - have been given
listed status for the first time. The Admiral Vernon was built to service the
Becontree Estate (inset bottom right), which was one of the largest and most
ambitious council estates of the period

Places in Manchester, Liverpool and Brighton also made the top 25 most
photogenic spots - but the White Cliffs of Dover came an impressive second.
London's Camden Market has 452,000 check-in tags on Instagram with 14 per cent
of those surveyed voting for the location. Of the 1,000 social media users
surveyed, nearly a quarter said that London's Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace
and Windsor Castle were their favourite spots.

lunar satellite appeared 17 per cent larger and 30 per cent brighter than usual.
The spectacular event could be seen rising over famous landmarks, including New
York's Statue of Liberty, London's Shard and the Great Pyramid of Giza.
