ABOUT ME


 * BACKGROUND
   
   
   I studied Computer Information Systems at North Central Texas College and
   Computer Science at Midwestern State University. I’ve been a freelance
   consultant for over ten years, working with individuals and small- to
   medium-sized businesses in a range of capacities: help desk, sysadmin, web
   developer, database admin, and more. I also served in a leadership role for
   almost ten years with companies like GameStop and Starbucks. I’m now working
   with Praece Consulting, helping clients embrace technology and making it work
   for them.
   
   


 * PERSONALITY
   
   
   Technology has always been a passion of mine and it’s driven me to be a
   life-long learner. That passion has driven me to engage in a variety of
   fields. Whether I’m using Windows or Linux, being a sysadmin or a developer,
   or architecting databases or networks - my experiences have given me a unique
   perspective and skill set, making me a versatile asset in any environment.
   
   Beyond just tech, I also have keen attention to detail and a strong capacity
   to think critically. I love to solve puzzles and treat most problems as such.
   I enjoy finding creative solutions to complex issues and always look for ways
   to make things better.
   
   I also enjoy working with people. Whether it’s my clients or my team, I
   thoroughly enjoy helping others. And as a leader, I take a special
   satisfaction in being able to help my team grow into their full potential.
   
   


 * PASSIONS
   
   
   Outside of work, I enjoy several hobbies. As a Texas transplant to
   Washington, I love exploring the Pacific Northwest and taking in its natural
   beauty. Of course, I enjoy learning so that also includes museums.
   
   I also study new languages. At the moment, the language is Japanese with a
   goal to pass the JLPT within the next year. Then to plan a trip!
   
   Tabletop games are also a favorite. I’m currently part of an actual-play
   podcast of Dungeons & Dragons. This campaign has been going for over three
   years now, but who knows when we’ll end!
   
   And finally, I also dedicate time to my community - by using my skills to
   help non-profit organizations and helping young minds grow their passion for
   STEM. I did not have much access to STEM programs when I was younger, so I
   enjoy being able to give other kids the opportunities I didn’t have.
