THE COOK’S NOOK IS WORKING TO PROMOTE AND ADVANCE FOOD ACCESS, EQUITY, SECURITY,
AND SUSTAINABILITY.

WE PROVIDE FOOD AND NUTRITION SERVICES FOR VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS AND ARE THE
PROUD PRODUCERS OF PACKAGED MOSAIC MEALS AND MOSAIC MEALS TO-GO. NUTRITIOUS AND
DELICIOUS, OUR READY-TO-EAT MEALS AND GRAB-AND-GO QUICK FOODS ARE DESIGNED TO
EXPAND ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE, FRESH FOOD BY PROVIDING ORGANIZATIONS WITH
HEALTHIER CHOICES FOR THEIR CLIENTS AND CUSTOMERS.

The Cook’s Nook is a community of culinary professionals working to promote and
advance food access, equity, security, and sustainability. We provide food and
nutrition services, help create businesses and events, and advocate for policies
that align with our values.

We’re also the proud producers of packaged Mosaic Meals and Mosaic Meals To-Go.
Nutritious and delicious, these fully cooked meals and ready-to-eat fare are
designed for and delivered to people with limited access to affordable fresh
food, providing them with healthier choices.

The Cook’s Nook is Central Texas’ leading food and nutrition services group,
providing fresh, healthy meals for food-insecure and nutritionally challenged
communities. Through government organizations, school districts, agencies,
nonprofits, and retailers, we provide thousands of people with daily access to
nutritious, delicious meals, helping improve their whole health and well-being,
as well as our region’s food security overall.

THE COOK’S NOOK, BUSINESS DEDICATED TO NUTRITIOUS AND ACCESSIBLE FOOD, HAS NEW
CEO

The Cook's Nook has been addressing the crucial topics of food access and equity
since it was founded in 2017 by Joi Chevalier. After five years, the company has
entered a new phase, as Chevalier moved from CEO to president June 20 and

A TEXAS TALE: STORIES OF FOOD RESILIENCE, ACCESS, AND EQUITY

Join us for The Cook’s Nook’s second annual fundraising dinner, A Texas Tale. We
will highlight stories of food resilience, access, and equity in the
Austin/Travis County community on December 8, 6:30-9pm! This year, proceeds will
go to Farmshare Austin and Green Thumb Farming, two innovative, upstart
organizations that are working to diversify our local food systems.

You can support these organizations by sharing an evening with amazing partners
in the local food system, and enjoying an amazing holiday dinner prepared by
some of our best local chefs—we will be serving a four-course meal designed by
Joi Chevalier (The Cook’s Nook), Adrian Lipscombe (Uptowne Cafe), Todd Duplechan

THE COOK’S NOOK FEATURED ON AUSTIN PBS



Cottonwood Baptist Church had been looking for a way to serve their local
community for years. An opportunity finally arose in September 2020 with The
Cook’s Nook. Food insecurity in Travis County disproportionately affects Black
and Brown communities. According to a study by Austin Public Health, 11% of
African American Austin residents and 9% of Austin Hispanics live in areas with
limited access to healthy foods. We are honored to help be a part of solving
this demanding issue.
