What is evaporative cooling? Evaporative cooling is using water evaporation to remove heat from a system at a low energy consumption and virtually maintenance-free. What is a cooling tower? A cooling tower is a heat exchanger which air and water brought in direct contact to reduce the water’s temperature. Small volume of the water is evaporated, reducing the circulating water temperature through the tower. The water is distributed through nozzles onto blocks of material called, “fill”, which exposes as much water surface area as possible for maximum air-water contact. As the water flows through the cooling tower, the exposed air is pulled through the tower by the electric motor-powered fan. As the water evaporate, creating the cooling, the cooled water is pumped back to the industrial process where it absorbs heat again. What types of cooling tower do Ryowo make?
