JANESSE (JAN) BRUCE

CEO and Co-founder

 * Twitter
 * LinkedIn

meQuilibrium Co-Founder and CEO Jan Bruce is a serial entrepreneur who brings a
proven track record of success to the table. Jan's natural agility in
recognizing and addressing important, overlooked market opportunities allows her
to reposition businesses and leverage new technologies that ushers in dynamic
change.

Jan Bruce distinguished herself early for her ability to drive cultural,
digital, and M&A transformations that have helped companies achieve increased
revenue, better operational efficiency, and internal cultures that set an
example for authenticity and growth. In addition to being regarded as a
future-focused, empathetic, and trusted voice in the boardroom, Jan is also an
impassioned advocate for helping people make measurable improvements in their
lives. Well-versed in consumer wellness and health trends, Jan has created
cutting-edge, transformative products that satisfy demands in fitness, holistic
health, alternative medicine, personal growth, and balanced living.

At the height of her career, Jan Bruce realized that she was being pulled in so
many directions – trying hard to balance being an executive, wife, and mother –
and not feeling like she was performing optimally in any role. Instead of being
excited and motivated, she was stressed out and approaching burnout. Jan knew
she was not alone in feeling this way and recognized that stress was a big risk
to both health and performance for much of the workforce. She had an epiphany:
successful performance and behavior are influenced by the way we think, and
lasting balance is only possible through self-awareness, self-management,
critical thinking, and an overall commitment to our wellbeing.

This is what led to meQuilibrium's inception in 2011. Built upon proprietary,
clinically validated science in the field of resilience, meQuilibrium is the
first holistic SaaS-based cognitive performance platform built for organizations
as they navigate the need for more innovative, agile workforces and integrated
HR strategies that support the overall experience and wellbeing of their
employees. The company's digital, interactive programs help employees and
companies achieve measurable, deep-rooted results in wellbeing and performance
by giving organizations the ability to predict problems and prescribe
personalized solutions at global scale.

Under Jan Bruce's leadership, meQuilibrium has achieved high annual revenue
growth rates and strong operating margins. The company's customer base includes
over 60 leading corporations, including numerous Fortune 500 companies and a
growing number of health plans, making meQuilibrium the #1 digital resilience
platform on the market. meQuilibrium has over 500,000 members and has gathered
over 60 million points of population data, enabling the use of machine learning
to deliver enhanced personalization.

meQuilibrium has been recognized by inclusion in Inc. 5000's Fastest Growing
Private
Companies list for multiple years running, Deloitte’s 2019 and 2020 Technology
Fast 500, and the 2019 and 2020 Brandon Hall Technology Award for Product
Innovation. They were also selected for the Fall 2019 SAP.iO Foundry accelerator
program, a global network of top tier software startups.

Prior to her work with meQuilibrium, Jan Bruce was an established executive in
the digital and print media industries. In 2002, as CEO at Body+Soul Magazine,
the category leader in wellness and sustainability, Jan led the turn-around and
sale of the business to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. (MSLO) for a 400%
return on investment.

At MSLO, Jan oversaw MSLO's wellness franchise and built their first
free-standing branded portal, WholeLiving.com, a destination site covering mind,
body, and spirit wellness, as well as sustainability. In four years, Jan
ultimately grew the magazine's paid circulation from 200,000 readers to 650,000.

Previously, Jan Bruce served as CEO of Integrative Medicine Communications, the
leading
digital brand in science-based complementary medicine, a content development and
licensing company. Other major media companies Jan has worked with include The
Hearst Corporation, the Washington Post Company, and Rolling Stone Magazine.

Jan Bruce is a trusted advocate and authority on women’s attitudes towards
balanced, healthy lifestyles and sustainable living. She is also an active
keynote speaker and panelist for her expertise in workplace resilience,
behavioral health, and technology. Jan has been a featured presenter at
Advertising Week, The American Magazine Conference, The Deutsche Bank Women on
Wall Street conference, Harvard Business School, the LOHAS conference, and the
Green Business Conference.

Jan Bruce was also Entrepreneur in Residence for Chrysalis Ventures, an early
stage venture fund with a focus on health and media technology, and is a member
of the Board of Directors of American Consolidated Media, a publisher of
local/community news properties. Additionally, she is also a published author.
She co-wrote meQuilibrium: 14 Days to Cooler, Calmer, and Happier in 2015 with
Andrew Shatte, Ph.D., and Adam Perlman, M.D., M.P.H and is a regular Forbes
contributor.

Jan lives with her husband in Waban, MA. She is the mother of two, and is an
avid runner, yogi, and cook.
