Democrats think only they have the right to express their political views.
And now this top Democrat just announced a sinister plan to censor Trump
supporters online.
New York Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul unveiled a new plan to monitor online
speech and use children to spy on their parents.
It’s a plan straight out of 1984.
Hochul cited the rise of “domestic extremism” as the basis for the state of New
York Committing $3 million to fund online threat assessment to teams to observe
social media platforms as well as to instruct school children how to spot
so-called “misinformation.”
“Governor Kathy Hochul today deployed new resources to continue combating the
ongoing rise in online hate speech across New York. Governor Hochul announced $3
million would be allocated to expand the Division of Homeland Security and
Emergency Services’ Domestic Terrorism Prevention Unit’s Threat Assessment and
Management training to all colleges and universities in New York State. The
Governor also directed the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services
to develop and distribute a media literacy toolkit to help public school
educators teach their students how to spot
misinformation/disinformation/malinformation (“MDM”) online,” a press release
from Hochul’s office read.
When Democrats refer to “domestic extremists” and “misinformation” what they
really mean are Trump supporters and any point of view that Democrats disagree
with.
“The rising tide of hate is putting all New Yorkers at risk – and as Governor,
I’m committed to tackling this crisis head-on,” Hochul added. “We’re deploying
physical security resources, expanding our Threat Management and Assessment
teams, calling for stronger action from social media companies, and encouraging
families and communities to come together to fight hate. New York has always
been a beacon of hope, tolerance and inclusivity, and we will be defined by how
we come together to condemn hate in all forms.”
Hochul claimed these social media surveillance teams were necessary because Big
Tech wasn’t doing enough to censor speech online.
“They say they’re monitoring for hate speech and I’d say there are instances
where you’re not successful. So, ramp up the number of people who are in charge
of monitoring, because if my state police can find it, if college students can
find it, the people you hire to find it should be able to do so and take it down
immediately,” Hochul added.
Hochul tried to frame conducting this social media dragnet and creation of a
league of junior spies in public schools as “combating anti-Semitism.”
But the press release announcing the spying operation also said it was necessary
in light of the white supremacist shooting in Buffalo.
Democrats think anyone to the right of Liz Cheney is a white supremacist.
And as conservatives saw with the FBI targeting parents who protested at school
board meetings, when Democrats say they want to crack down on “hate,” what they
really mean is turning the police powers of the state on their political
opposition.
