Former AMP Capital executive Nader Naeimi has joined the US$62 billion multi-strategy hedge fund to set up a cross-asset global macro business out of Dubai. The high-profile Naeimi arrived at Millennium after two years at GIC, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, finishing up last month as portfolio manager and head of multi-assets. This gig followed three months of gardening leave after leaving AMP Capital, where he spent 21 years. When Naeimi joined GIC, he said: "There is a clear culture of meritocracy, trust, and respect in an inclusive environment that leverages diversity to invest well for Singapore." Earlier in his career, Naemi worked at GIO Asset Management and Bankers Trust. Also arriving at Millennium is Jefferies' head of real estate equities research Sholto Maconochie. He was recruited this month as a senior analyst based in Sydney. Before his five years with Jeffries, Maconochie spent seven years at stockbroker CLSA as head of Australian real estate. He earlier worked for PwC's corporate advisory business. Just two months ago, long-serving Citi trader Craig Meyerowitz moved to Millennium's Singapore office. The hedge fund hired him as a rates portfolio manager. Other Australians moving to Millennium include Mark Samter, who joined a year ago from MST Financial, where he was a partner and senior analyst and former ANZ economist David Plank.
