Google has advised all customers to update their browsers as soon as possible. The Information Services Cybersecurity Operations Center is on high alert and are already testing and deploying the necessary updates. Given how important it is to keep our network protected against this growing threat, please take a moment to review these key actions. 1. Be cautious while browsing the internet as Texas Children’s updates the web browsers on all workstations. 2. Do not click on ads that promise free money, prizes or discounts. 3. Avoid quizzes, games or surveys on the internet asking for sensitive personal information. 4. Only visit websites that are HTTPS enabled, which can be identified by the lock icon present in the browser bar. 5. Heighten your phishing email vigilance: avoid clicking on suspicious links or links you are unsure of and avoid downloading suspicious attachments from emails or text messages you are not expecting. 6. Use the Phish Alert button located in the Microsoft Outlook toolbar to quickly alert the cyber security team of any suspicious emails and enable them to block phishing emails quickly. If you have any questions, please call the IS Service Desk at ext. 4-3512 (external 832-824-3512). Thank you for your efforts to keep Texas Children’s secure so that we can continue delivering excellent care and service to our patients, health plan members and their families.
