The majority of our door knockers are supplied with a striker plate or button. The striker plate or button aims to protect your door from damage when the knocker is being used. If you would like to check if your preferred door knocker comes with a striker plate, please see the Additional Information tab on the product page. Do you supply your door knockers with the required fixings? Unlike the majority of online suppliers, all of our door knockers are supplied with all the relevant fixings. We believe installing a door knocker should be a simple and hassle-free experience. If for any reason you require any other fixings, you will be able to source these from your local hardware store. Can I install your knockers on my UPVC or composite doors? Our door knockers are designed to be easily installed on wood, UPVC, and composite doors. However, we do have certain door knockers which are better suited to specific doors. If you are unsure if your door knocker is suitable, please consult with your door manufacturer or installer as this could void any warranty you may have. Where should I Install my door knocker? This is entirely up to your preference. The most common place to fit a door knocker is along the center of the door. This particular position fits well for wooden, composite, and UPVC doors with a central panel. If your door has a glass window preventing you from fitting your knocker in the center, an alternative position such as below the window will do just fine. Can I install a door knocker myself? Most of the door knockers we supply require only 1 hole and 1 threaded bolt. If you are confident with a drill then you will be able to install your new door knocker without any third-party help. Some of our door ranges, like our Slim Antique Pewter Ring Knocker, will require two holes. We advise you to offer the mounting plate up to the door and mark the holes with a pencil before drilling. This will ensure you have the holes correctly lined up.
