DECREASE IN 2023 Rylee Wilson - Thursday, December 22nd, 2022 Save Post Tweet Share Listen Text Size Print Email Premiums for individual health insurance are set to rise in 2023, according to a Dec. 14 report from ValuePenguin. The financial analysis site found a 40-year-old enrolling in a silver ACA Exchange plan can expect to pay 4 percent more in monthly premiums in 2023 than in 2022. In some states, these increases are even higher. In Georgia, average monthly premiums jumped 20 percent. But not everyone will see an increase. According to ValuePenguin, in 13 states, premiums will decrease. In Virginia, these decreases top out at almost 17 percent, while in other states, premiums decreased by just a few dollars a month. Here are the states where premiums will decrease in 2023: 1. Virginia 2023 average: $425 2022 average: $512 Percent change: -16.99 2. Louisiana 2023 average: $652 2022 average: $728 Percent change: -10.44 3. Idaho 2023 average: $483 2022 average: $516 Percent change: -6.40 4. Nebraska 2023 average: $652 2022 average: $685 Percent change: -4.82 5. Mississippi 2023 average: $499 2022 average: $511 Percent change: -2.35 6. South Dakota 2023 average: $792 2022 average: $811 Percent change: -2.34 7. Indiana 2023 average: $425 2022 average: $433 Percent change: -1.85 8.
