There is no model or scientific method employed. From the beginning, the
Brandon/Hill selected lists have always been based on the opinion of the
compilers. While selecting the books for the 2001 version, 47% (294) book titles
that were on the 1999 list were removed. However, the final choice of
publications is ours-based upon our opinion. We have considered input-pro and
con-from health sciences librarians, editors, clinicians, subject specialists,
and vendors. Henry Stickell and Dorothy Hill have coauthored the 2001 update of
the “Brandon/Hill Selected List of Print Books and Journals for the Small
Medical Library.” Henry Stickell has worked as an assistant on five previous
selected lists-small medical library 1, nursing 2, and allied health 2. So, we
shall dispense with our traditional philosophizing and point out several changes
that have occurred since the 1999 version was published.īy now, you are probably
aware that this list has a new name, “Brandon/Hill Selected List of Print Books
and Journals for the Small Medical Library.” We felt the word “print” would
allow anyone who is looking for electronic media to look elsewhere, for this
publication is restricted to print books and journals. After thirty-six years
and nineteen lists, is there really much left to say? In fact, the project seems
to speak for itself, so the authors will not recount in detail the history and
purpose of the “list.” But if you are interested, bibliographic data is
available at the bottom of the first page of this paper.

Now thirty-six years later, we are presenting the nineteenth revised version of
the “Brandon/Hill Selected List of Print Books and Journals for the Small
Medical Library.” The first list (1965) contained 358 books and 123 journals the
2001 version has 630 books and 143 journals. Brandon began the “selected book
and journal list” idea back in 1965 to assist hospital librarians with acquiring
quality medical literature. The “minimal core list” book collection costs
approximately $14,300.Īlfred N. The cost of only the asterisked items, books and
journals, totals $55,000. To purchase the entire collection of 630 books and to
pay for 143 2001 journal subscriptions would require $124,000. Due to continuing
requests from librarians, a “minimal core list” consisting of 81 titles has been

daggers (†*) before the asterisks. Books and journals are categorized by subject

They also have problems if you choose NOT to play them and even trying to start
them.

 * Side missions are dull and repetitive, with the only reward for completing
   them being hero points and news reports from the Bugle Channel, which repeat
   extremely often and aren't accurate to the crime you could be defeating
   enemies at night, but in the report, it'll show broad daylight.
 * While the reputation meter (Hero/Menace) is an interesting concept, it's
   pretty pointless since nothing major happens outside of the Task Force
   attacking you on sight nor does it affect the story like other games with a
   similar mechanic like InFamous.
 * Small world to explore, and it isn't lively.
 * For some unknown reason, in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, loads the main
   menu quicker after skipping the opening logos, otherwise it will load the
   main menu the same time it takes to load a level in The Simpsons: Road Rage
   if you decide to watch all the logos without skipping them.
 * Lifeless and poorly rendered city, like a 4-square level in a Game-Boy video
   game.

 * Boss battles themselves are disappointing, as they consist of either
   exploiting a single, basic pattern which never changes or ones that are
   interrupted by bland quick-time events.Speaking of bosses, the fight with
   Kingpin has a strange bug where after defeating him, he just.Only three enemy
   types in the entire game, not counting boss battles.The combat system is a
   poor duplication of the system in the Batman: Arkham series. Clearly stated,
   it's a copy.On top of that, none of the characters look like their real-life
   counterparts from the film, especially Peter Parker and Harry Osborn who look
   nothing like Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan. The character models also look
   terrible as most look cheap, sometimes ugly, and some looking like they have
   some sort of skin disease.On the subject of graphics, Spider-Man's default
   suit in the game suffers from an unpleasant tinge of orange, making him look
   more his appearance in the Marvel VS Capcom games than a video game rendition
   of the movie's costume.Not to mention that the graphics make the game look
   like it was from 2007, not 2014. Also not helping is the fact that this was
   released for the PS4 and Xbox One, and somehow the game doesn't look any
   different from the PS3 and Xbox 360, which has even worse graphics than the
   previous game. Very terrible graphics, a HUGE step back from the previous
   game.The arcade machine in the comic book shop is just a boring
   "Collect-A-Thon" mode.Disappointing final battle with the infamous serial
   killer Cletus Kasady/Carnage.Characters in the plot appear and disappear
   without reason, with some characters from the movie (such as Gwen Stacy)
   being completely cut from the game.
   
   

 * The storyline is just as weak as the movie.
