CORONA USA BEACH CLEANUP

1/17/2024

Most of Joshua Tree National Park is located in the county. Geographically, the
county is mostly desert in the central and eastern portions, but has a
Mediterranean climate in the western portion. Roughly rectangular, Riverside
County covers 7,208 square miles (18,670 km 2) in Southern California, spanning
from the greater Los Angeles area to the Arizona border. The county is also
included in the Los Angeles- Long Beach Combined Statistical Area. Riverside
County is included in the Riverside- San Bernardino- Ontario Metropolitan
Statistical Area, also known as the Inland Empire. The name was derived from the
city of Riverside, which is the county seat. As of the 2020 census, the
population was 2,418,185, making it the fourth-most populous county in
California and the 10th-most populous in the United States. It ends up on our
plates in the food we end, in our glasses as the water we drink.Riverside County
is a county located in the southern portion of the U.S. These pollutants will
end up being mistaken as food for fish, birds and mammals. This information can
help us inform others and create change on the items that end up contaminating
our oceans, rivers and streams. 1% were items like diapers, tampons, condoms and
syringes. In addition, another 4% was made up of packaging materials, packing
tape, packaging, other plastic bottles. Of the remaining, 4% were waste like
appliances, balloons, lighters, building materials and tires.

The 2014 cleanup helped determine that the most common objects found were, 90%
plastic, cigarette butts, food containers, beverage cans, plastic bags, paper
bags, plastic cups and plates, plastic caps and metal caps. It is not only trash
that is collected but also information. This year the mayors of several
districts, representatives of judges, community environmental groups, schools
and non-governmental organizations from different regions of the country, as
well as the private sector and thousands of volunteers, took part. The activity
is part of a global program to clean up beaches and coasts, the program has been
being promoted since 1986 by The Ocean Conservancy United States.Įach year more
and more people get involved with the cleanup. Each year NGOs work with local
groups throughout the country to organize the "Grand Cleanup". Panama’s National
Beach Cleanup is organized by ProMar, Panama Green Association, and the Audubon
Society of Panama. Among them were: the mouth of Matías Hernández river in Costa
del Este, Panama Viejo, Veracruz, Playa Serena, Playa Leona, El Palmar, San José
in Punta Barco, Gorgona, Rio Mar, Corona, Otoque in the province of Panama while
in the province of Veraguas people they collected debris on beaches Queen,
Torio, Malena, Santa Catalina, Bongo, Mutis, Mata Oscura, Mermejo Palo Seco,
Puerto Nance, Copper River in the province of Darien, beach cleaners cleaned up
Punta Patiño.

Playa Serena is not the only beach that received a makeover yesterday, according
to Rita Spadafora, executive director of the National Association for the
Conservation of Nature (Ancon), over 60 beaches and rivers in the country were
cleaned up yesterday. A huge thank you to everyone who participated, thanks to
you, our beach is spotless! With an enormous amount of help from local
businesses, students, staff and parents from the Coronado International School,
and residents committed to cleaning up the neighborhood, we removed over 57 bags
of trash from the beach, beach accesses and street! A special thanks to the
Coronado Country Club administration for helping us dispose of the trash
collected. We met with over 60 people on Sunday morning. Playa Community
organized the group working on Playa Serena. Sunday’s national beach cleanup
brought hundreds of people together in Panama to cleanup beaches, coasts and

DO I NEED TO TRADEMARK MY BUSINESS NAME AND PRODUCT NAME

1/17/2024

This should include a free online trademark search to check availability. It’s
approximately $325 (for online filing) per class that your mark falls under and
the process can take anywhere from 6-12 months once you submit your
application.īefore submitting an application, you should perform a trademark
search first to make sure your proposed mark is available. To register a
trademark, you’ll need to file an application with the U.S. Additionally,
trademarks have value and can be sold as corporate assets. For example, if
someone happens to be using your company name as their Twitter handle. This can
make it significantly easier to recover your property. Trademarks registered
with the USPTO enjoy significantly stronger protection than ‘common law’
(unregistered) marks.

Federal Trademark protection, you’ll be eligible for several benefits,
including: treble damages in some cases of infringement, the right to use the ®
in your trademark, and a streamlined process for securing your domains and
usernames at social sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Simply
registering a DBA in your state doesn’t automatically grant you common law
rights in order to claim first use, the name has to be ‘trademarkable’ and in
use in commerce.īy registering for U.S. However, as expected, trademark law is
quite complex. Using a business name can give you ‘common law’ rights, even
without formally registering it. There’s no legal requirement for you to
register a trademark. But if you’re planning on conducting business outside your
own state, or even on the Internet, you should look into trademark protection.Ī
trademark is a word, phrase, symbol or design (or a combination of any of these)
that identifies and distinguishes the source of the goods of one party from
those of others. What does this mean? If you’ve started a business that’s
physically tied to your state (for example, a boutique shop) and never plan on
expanding into other states, registering your name with the state or county
might be enough brand protection for you. It prevents anyone else from using the
name within the state, but it doesn’t offer any kind of protection in the other
49 states. Once approved, the business name is yours and yours alone to use
within that state. When you incorporate, form an LLC, or file a DBA (Doing
Business As), this process registers your business name with that state’s
secretary of state. Many new business owners often think that registering with
their state (by incorporating or filing a DBA) is enough to protect them. I’ve
registered with the state…isn’t that enough? When it comes to your business name
and trademark protection, a few proactive steps can go a long way toward
protecting your business name, brand and identity. Maybe you’ve been running a
successful business for years, but administrative details always seem to take a
back seat to day-to-day operations. Have you protected this valuable asset? How
well do you understand trademark law? Maybe you’re just starting your business.
It’s the cornerstone of your business and shapes everything that follows – from
marketing tone to a customer’s first impressions. Nothing represents your
company and brand more than your business name.

DR SANDRA LEE GRAPEFRUIT SIZE CYST PART TWO

1/17/2024

Pimple Popper when it airs Thursday at 9 p.m. To find out what happens next,
don't miss Dr. "That was a little disappointing but she did say she could go in
and actually remove the fluid from the cyst so we won't have the same problem
when we leave here so that's good." ' really nervous about the idea of having to
get another procedure after this one, especially if Aziza isn't with me," Lauren
tells the cameras.

She just can't promise that it won't come back.

While Aziza and Lauren were disappointed, Lee tells them she will attempt to
extract some of the fluid and make the bump as flat as possible. A lot of times,
if my patients have them, a lot of dermatologists can either refer them directly
to orthopedics or a hand surgeon because if you want to get rid of it
definitely, you want to go in there and seal that connection." "They're down
underneath there-deep-and that's a little too far for me as a dermatologist to
get to. "They are connected right between the bone," she tells her patients.
They sometimes go away on their own, but if not, they can be removed or drained
by a doctor.īut because of its location, Lee explains why she may not be able to
remove it permanently. According to the Mayo Clinic, they are relatively common,
with more than 200,000 cases per year. They normally are not painful unless they
are on the nerve and they typically do not interfere with movement. Lee
describes it as a "hair gel-like substance." Bookmark Dr Pimple Popper tugs out
cyst from footballers back The clip was posted by Dr Sandra Lee whose
cyst-popping videos have been viewed by millions. For whatever reason, sometimes
the fluid pops threw and fills up a bubble in the hands or wrists. The sacs are
filled with fluids that the body makes to help lubricate the joints. They are
noncancerous lumps that are usually on top of the joints or tendons of hands and
wrists. An epidermoid cyst is a non-cancerous growth commonly found on the skin
of the face or neck, but can occur anywhere on the body. Upon examining the
friends, Lee determines they have ganglion cysts. It's very unusual to have
matching bumps and I think cysts really brought them together. It's as is
they've known each other for years and years, yet this is the first day they've
ever met in person. "These two women-who met on the internet-they are the
cutest," Lee tells the TLC cameras. Since Lauren and Aziza have matching bumps,
they joke that they're in a "cysterhood." They make Lee laugh when they "cyst
bump" their lumps together. Even though ganglion cysts are not cancerous, she
cannot permanently help "cysters" Lauren and Aziza when they come to her for
help, as featured on Thursday's edition of the TLC reality show. Pimple Popper,"
can seemingly do anything when it comes to dermatological problems.

BOB SEGER NIGHT MOVES SONG LIST

1/17/2024

Horny teenagers out in the country? Check.

Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy

She was a black-haired beauty with big dark eyesĪnd points all her own sitting
way up highįrom there, Seger goes on to hit all the notes of classic heartland
rock pop: He introduces himself as a scrawny teenager involved with an
attractive girl, and even ends first stanza with a relatively crude joke about
the girl’s breasts, luxuriating in the memory of past sexual conquests: The
First Partįrom the start, Seger seems to be setting up a song that plays
straight into the most standard (and puerile) tropes of country-rock. You can
find a full (mostly-accurate) version of the lyrics here. To understand “Night
Moves”, you have to realize that it is cleanly divided into two parts: the last
stanza and literally everything else. What’s more, I’d say “Night Moves” goes
beyond simply evoking the feeling in Western audiences, and actually preserves
many Japanese literary devices that surround the concept, making it the most
perfect translation of the broader concept to Western ears. Well, I would argue
that out of every song, poem, and movie I’ve come across, Bob Seger’s “Night
Moves” is the closest I’ve ever seen anyone get to Yasujirō Ozu’s ability to
portray the concept. So how does Bob Seger fit into any of this? The transience
of these things can evoke a sort of wistfulness and sadness, but at the same
time heighten your appreciation of them. Or imagine having the last of your
children leave home to find their place in the world, knowing–and accepting–that
your family can never quite go back to the way it was before. Imagine seeing the
old elementary school you made so many memories in being torn down for modern
expansions, knowing that although it will better serve the community, the halls
you knew so well will be lost forever. I should mention that I myself am not
Japanese, nor am I a scholar on Japanese literature, but the feeling of mono no
aware is something that I believe most people can connect to. Mono no aware is
also often linked to the contemplation of the beauty of cherry blossoms, which
only bloom for a few weeks before falling. Setsuko Hara as Noriko and Chishū Ryū
as Shukichi in Yasujirō Ozu's Late Spring. Some of the most quintessential
instances are said to be captured in Japanese filmmaker Yasujirō Ozu’s movies,
such as a loyal daughter being married off in the film Late Spring. Although
Wikipedia probably sums it up the best, mono no aware roughly corresponds to an
empathy and gentle sadness for the life’s ephemeralities. The most contact
Westerners have with the term “mono no aware” is probably through the internet,
where it draws its fame from being a particularly hard phrase to translate. Bob
Seger had always been one of the nameless voices on the radio growing up with
the oldies, so I guess it isn’t surprising that I never really listened to the
lyrics.īy the time I finally got around to it, I was old enough to appreciate
it, and knowledgable enough about art to connect it with something else I had
heard about.

Like many children, my musical preferences traced an accelerated version of my
parents’ own development–I was plunked down first into the music of the ’60s,
and it took me 18 years to finally catch up to modern pop. I can’t remember the
first time I heard “Night Moves”. Of course, I’m talking about the mono no aware
(物の哀れ) in his hit song, “Night Moves”. What’s even weirder is that he can do
this in a song about how he was constantly horny as a kid. It makes it weird,
then, that his music so perfectly captures a uniquely Japanese aesthetic, one
infamously difficult to translate.

I’m not sure he’s ever even been to Japan. What does a quintessential heartland
rock song have to do with a traditional Japanese aesthetic?Īmerican rock roll
legend Bob Seger isn’t Japanese. Bob Seger and the 'Ah-ness' of Being: Why
'Night Moves' is the Most Poetic Rock Song Ever.

CONNECTING INDEPENDENT SOLAR GRIDS TO GRID

1/17/2024

Recent Commentary: to read more about costs of wind or solar grid connection,
please see our article here. Whereas the highest-cost tie-in was $1,250/kW
(i.e., more than the 40MW solar project itself!) where the asset owner was asked
to contribute an eye-watering c$50M to cover the costs of upgrading 500km of
high-voltage transmission lines downstream of the inter-connection point. The
lowest-cost tie-in was $25/kW, tying in a solar asset to a 230kV power line with
spare capacity that is a mere 1-mile away. What is most surprising is how vastly
the ranges can vary. Larger and higher voltage projects tend to have lower
tie-in costs. But a good baseline is to expect $100-300/kW of grid
inter-connection costs, or $3-10/kW-km, over a 10-70 km typical distance (which
includes the length of downstream lines that must be upgraded). We’ll be happy
to talk to you about the best solar power and battery options for you. This
data-file assesses twenty case studies of renewables assets in North America,
based on published inter-connection documents.Ĭosts are highly variable. Want to
know more about solar and batteries? Then give us a call on 136 385, or request
for us to ring you. What’s more, in the event of a power outage in your area,
certain types of batteries will even allow you to use their stored energy while
you’re waiting for full grid service to be resumed. The benefits of a
batteryĪdding a 4kWh solar battery to a 5kW solar system can increase the amount
of self-generated electricity a household consumes from 30 to 60%, ultimately
saving you money and reducing your carbon footprint. If you don’t have a
battery, or your battery becomes depleted, you’ll consume energy from the grid
and pay for it at your usual rates. If you have a battery, your home can use the
energy that your panels have previously created and stored. At night, your
system will not be able to produce any energy at all. On days when there is
limited sunshine, your solar panels will not be able to produce as much power as
your home needs. This means that any energy you send back to the grid will earn
you a ‘feed-in tariff’ that can be credited against the cost of any energy you
use from the grid. Most households with solar power systems are net metered.
Once your battery is fully charged, any excess energy produced will then go into
the grid. When your system is creating more energy than is being used, the
excess energy will either flow back into the grid, or to charge your battery if
you have one. Solar panels create most of their energy during the middle of the
day, while most of us are out at work and not at home to use it. When your solar
panels are producing energy, the power they create will go straight to run any
household appliances that are being used simultaneously. Solar panels aren’t
affected by air temperature, so even if it’s a cold winter day, as long as it’s
sunny and your panel is positioned out of the shade with unobstructed access to
the sun’s rays, you should be able to generate power during sunlight hours. On a
bright day with plenty of sunshine, your solar panels will be producing energy.
So where does your solar-plus-storage system get its energy from? Bright, sunny
days Systems with both batteries and grid connection work off a combination of
power produced by the system’s own solar panels, power stored in the battery,
and power drawn down from the grid. Consequently, most solar-plus-storage
systems will still need to be connected to the grid. While a battery definitely
reduces reliance on the electricity grid, the vast majority of households find
that going off-grid isn’t a realistic possibility just yet: most people consume
far more energy than they can produce and store.

Solar-plus-storage systems include a rechargeable battery that can store any
excess energy your solar panels create and you don’t use simultaneously. The
most sophisticated models can even feed data to a programme that you can access
via the Internet or a mobile app. You can get this equipment wired into your
switchboard, although some inverters come with a monitoring device already
inbuilt. Performance monitoring equipment can help you to keep track of how much
energy your system is actually producing, and can help you identify any faults
to ensure your system is running at its most efficient. Health, safety, security

BYZANTINE MEDIEVAL HELMETS

1/16/2024

Its written in mix of Venetian and Dalmatian dialects ands its sometimes quite
hard ti tell what those pieces exactly are. century armory content of one city
in Dalmatia. They did not have had such universal meaning.Ī good example is a
list of mid XV. What poster above wishes to say as I understood it is that it is
not always clear what writers meant when they used those terms. We as Tsardoms
team have decidee to include lammelar armors and some people didnt liked that
really. It has been pretty much endless debate so far. Other group thinks that
some lammelar armor was still to some extent used. Its been a matter of debate
for years here whether lammelar armor was used in 12-15 centuries or not.īasicly
some people say that lammelar was not used anymore and frescoes which do show it
merely copy older frescoes and do not show actual situation.Īccording to them
actual armors were just as same as in Western Europe, mail and coat of plates
and so on. There is also the fact the the Ottomans usually kept the looted armor
pieces of their conquests in the Istambul armouries or worn them in further
campaigns, and from what I know, they didn't change from their mail/plated mail
armors after their conquest of greece, nor are there lamellar armor pieces in
the Topkapi collections (some of the captured european plate armor pieces might
have been worn by the greeks during the 15th century i guess, though I don't
think there are many ways to test this possibility.)Take a look at the images
below:

armor in greek museums labelled as byzantine ones are mail suits. What can we
make of all these indirect clues? The more I look into them, the more confused I
get.ĮDIT: Apparently the only two pieces of armor in greek museums labelled as
byzantine ones are mail suits. The final indirect clue is, in my view, the fact
the the Stradioti in venetian service are mentioned as having at most mail armor
and a helmet, with only a few wearing a "panziere" (maybe plate belly armor).
There is also the mention of the 300 burgundian soldiers sent to Emperor
Constantine in 1445, which probably would bring modern plate armor with them.
The instructions of Theodore Palaiologos, which suggest for the same period a
combination of mail and an unspecified cuiriee (maybe a leather armor, maybe an
early cuirass, it's not clear).Īnother indirect source in the painting "Saint
George and the Princess", by Pisanello, which was supposedly inspired, in some
details, by contemporary byzantine dress, and which depicts the saint in an
archaic looking cuirass. There is also the will of the Skouterios Theodore
Sarantenos that implies mail (lorikion/lorikon) as the mail armor worn by a rich
cavalrymen of the same period, but again the terms are not clear (he also had a
kazakan/kazagand, which supposedly also had a mail layer). Unfortunally, the
fragment by Ibn Battuta is not clear enough to define what kind of armor would
that be. There is some evidence that at the first half of the 14th century, the
byzantines were using some kind of armor over their mails (see this discussion
at reddit: ). There are some indirect clues that I've been trying to make sense
of, but I still can't see the bigger picture. Thank you for your answers guys!
About the byzantines, I guess we wont have good answers as long as more
archeological discoveries aren't made.
