SENIOR IAS OFFICER VIKAS SHEEL APPOINTED TO KEY LEADERSHIP ROLE AT ASIAN
DEVELOPMENT BANK

Seasoned bureaucrat Vikas Sheel has been appointed as the Executive Director of
the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, as per an order from the Personnel
Ministry. This move is part of a broader trend that involves the appointment of
seven civil servants to pivotal roles overseas.

Seasoned bureaucrat Vikas Sheel has been appointed as the Executive Director of
the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, as per an order from the Personnel
Ministry. This move is part of a broader trend that involves the appointment of
seven civil servants to pivotal roles overseas.


According to the PTI report, Vikas Sheel, a 1994-batch Indian Administrative
Service (IAS) officer hailing from the Chhattisgarh cadre, presently serves as
the Additional Secretary and Mission Director for the Jal Jeevan Mission under
the Ministry of Jal Shakti. His new role as the Executive Director at ADB is
slated for a three-year tenure from the date he assumes charge.




Smita Sarangi, another senior bureaucrat, has secured the position of Adviser to
the Executive Director at ADB in Manila, Philippines, also for a three-year term
from the commencement of her duties.


Further diversifying the appointments, Kalyan Revella, a senior bureaucrat, will
assume the role of Counsellor (Economic) at the Embassy of India in Beijing,
marking another three-year appointment.


Meanwhile, Senthil Pandian C, a 2002-batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh
cadre, is set to become the Ambassador/Permanent Representative at the Permanent
Mission of India to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva.


The report added that M Balaji, a 2005-batch IAS officer from the Tamil Nadu
cadre, has been designated as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of
India in Brussels.


Parveen Kumar, a 2004 batch Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officer, will be
serving as the Adviser to the Executive Director at the International Monetary
Fund (IMF) in Washington DC, USA, replacing Simanchala Dash for a three-year
term.


Tanu Singh, an Indian Trade Service officer from the 2012 batch, completes the
list, taking on the role of First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of India to
the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva for a three-year period.
