         I don't know the wattage, but we had an earlier JBL that had better and
         more powerful sound. Also, this one has beveled ends that could cause
         it to tip over, so you have to set it down on the long edge, where it
         can actually roll away. The idea on forcing you to lay it on its side
         is evidently to allow a stereo effect (both speakers), but you really
         don't get a stereo sound with speakers that are 10 inches apart! Duh!
