Photo: International Telecomunication Union MEETING IN THE INTERNATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATION UNION ON THE CZECH PRESIDENCY IN THE EU AND JOINT DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS 03.02.2022 / 11:43 | Aktualizováno: 03.02.2022 / 13:41 The work of the Telecommunication Development Sector is supported by its Secretariat, the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT). BDT deals mainly with development policies, strategies, programming, as well as technical cooperation activities to close the digital divide. BDT also organizes a World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) in the period between two Plenipotentiary Conferences to consider topics, projects and programmes relevant to telecommunication development. Ambassador Bálek and BDT Director Bogdan-Martin discussed the new digital technologies as they relate to the human rights agenda. They also elaborated on possible joint development projects in ICT, the preparation of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-22), which will take place in Bucharest from 26 September to 14 October 2022, and cooperation during the Czech Presidency in the EU in the second half of 2022.
