He was born on May 21, 1949 in Düzce / Beslambey Village (now Akınlar
neighborhood). His father, the late Kemal (known as Sarı Kemal), was transferred
to Eskişehir (1950) because he was a police officer, and his mother, Memnune
Hanım (deceased), the daughter of the late Chief Inspector Hacı Ömer Uz, was a
housewife. His parents settled in this beautiful city when the author was one
year old. The author, who completed his secondary education in this city,
continued his education as an air non-commissioned officer candidate, emulating
the aviators of this city, also known as the city of aviators. 1967 Hv. Tek. Ok.
He graduated from the Air Defense School. As an air non-commissioned officer, he
was first assigned to Şarkışla, the place of minstrelsy. Here, he got to know
Âşık Veysel and Âşık Ali İzzet personally, met them and had conversations with
them. The author continued his duty in Ankara, Erzurum and Izmir. He also
studied undergraduate studies in the Federal Republic of Germany and served in
the German Air Force for a year. He retired in 1995 after thirty-five years of
nominal service as a senior chief master sergeant of the air force. As the elder
brother, he has two siblings. Caner, who passed away in 2022, one of his
brothers, served as the District Governor of Çarşamba and finally as the Deputy
Governor of Muğla. His younger brother Haluk is engaged in trade in
Bodrum/Turgutreis.

He resides in Izmir and Eskişehir, two cities he loves very much. He has
recently expressed his poems in the free air of these cities. He is married to
his wife Yücel, a retired nurse, and has a daughter Hülya, who works as a
responsible officer in Izmir Metropolitan Data Processing Department, and is
married to Mehmet Çelik, an air quartermaster, a chief master sergeant of the
air force. His son, Dr. Türkay, works at Izmir Institute of Technology. The
author has two grandsons, Kaan and Hakan.

The poems in his first book were mostly written in these cities. His ancestors
escaped the Russian atrocities and settled in Düzce from the Sochi region of the
Caucasus with the Great Circassian migration of 1864 (from the Ubykhs).
