The Town Office closing schedule for the Christmas holiday is as follows:

The Town Clerk and Zoning offices will be closed on December 24 & 25, reopening
on December 26.

The Town Manager’s Office will be closed on December 25 & 26, reopening on
December 27.

OPEN OFFICES FOR 2025 TOWN MEETING

December 9, 2024  in Town Clerk

Notice to all Hardwick Voters who are interested in running for office that the
following seats will be up for election at Town Meeting 2025:

For the Hardwick Select Board:
One 3-year Term
Two 1-year Term

For Town Clerk & Treasurer
One 3-Year Term

For the Hazen Union District #26 Board:
One 3-Year Term
Two 1-Year Remaining on Three Year Term

If you are interested in running for any of these positions, please pick up a
Nominating Petition and Consent of Candidate form from the Town Clerk’s Office.
You must have at least 24 valid signatures of registered Hardwick Voters (we
suggest 30 to be certain) and the original petition and consent must be
submitted to our office no later than 5 p.m. on January 27, 2025.

PROPOSED EAST HARDWICK ZONING DISTRICT

December 3, 2024  in Zoning

After comparing HOME Act proposals with preliminary findings of the Better
Connections process, the Hardwick Planning Commission (HPC) concluded that the
East Hardwick Village was more aligned with a new single Village Center zoning
district. The proposed Village Center District (VC) has the following purpose:

“To support a central mixed use area in East Hardwick. The Village Center
District is intended to provide a place of civic pride and a focal point for
development in the community. The Village Center District enables a variety of
housing opportunities with a mix of small-scale commercial in a
pedestrian-friendly setting.”

The Hardwick Planning Commission will be hosting a listening session at their
meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 6:30 pm. The session will occur on the
third floor of the Memorial Building and on Zoom.

Please bring your questions, concerns, and suggestions. You may also send these

PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

November 25, 2024  in Town Manager

The Town of Hardwick seeks sealed BIDS for the construction of the Hardwick
  Pedestrian Bridge Project including the removal of existing retaining walls,
removal of existing bridge abutments, shoring of existing retaining wall
to remain, installation of new retaining walls segment, installation of new
bridge abutments, installation of new pedestrian bridge, reconnecting utilities,
minor grading within river corridor to expand floodway volume capacity,
installation of riprap, slope stabilization measures and planting, and paving
and landscape improvements to pedestrian bridge access.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Main Street side of the
Pedestrian Bridge in Hardwick, VT on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
Questions from prospective bidders are due on Friday, December 13, 2024, by 3:00
PM.  Responses to all questions will be provided by COB on Friday, December 20,
2024.

Bids will be accepted at the Hardwick Town Manager’s Office, 20 Church Street,
Hardwick, VT 05843 until 1:00 p.m. on January 22, 2025, and then publicly opened
and read aloud at said office.

Due to the file size, the drawings, specifications, and contract documents may
be examined at the following location: Hardwick Town Manager’s Office 20 Church
Street, Hardwick, VT 05843. You may also request the documents be emailed to you
by calling the Hardwick Town Manager’s Office at (802) 472-6120.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR SLOPE STABILIZATION

The Town of Hardwick is seeking proposals from qualified engineering firms to
provide design and
engineering services for the repair and stabilization of an approximately
500-foot-long landslide
along School Street which is located in East Hardwick Village. The project
requires comprehensive
engineering solutions to stabilize the slope, protect infrastructure and
property, and ensure public
