VATRE & Bond 2024

The Rockwall ISD proposals before voters are two parts of a long-range plan. The
bond will allow for more schools to be built. The VATRE will allow Rockwall ISD
to increase compensation for educators, fund state requirements, including
unfunded state mandates and allow the District to hire more teachers to meet the
growing enrollment.

Dyslexia Parent Information Night

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month!

Join us for Dyslexia Parent Information Night on Thursday, October 17th at
Rochell Elementary from 6:00 – 7:30. 

This event is being hosted by Rockwall ISD Special Programs and is designed to
help parents better understand dyslexia and how to support their children at
home. Sessions will cover what dyslexia is, practical strategies for home
support, and provide an overview of the instructional resources used by our
district’s dyslexia teachers. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with our
team and gain valuable insights to help your child succeed!

Our Silver Club members spent their morning at the Dr. Gene Burton College and
Career Academy where students shared their experiences in various CTE programs
we offer. They also enjoyed a presentation of the colors from our newest
program, Marine Corps JROTC. Our Silver Clubbers were invited on a tour of the
academy and took home some pumpkin spice whoopie pies made by our talented
culinary arts students.
