New Development Charges As of the 2nd of April 2016, NBNco have implemented a $300 nbn New Development Fee to be charged on the first connection to a premises in an NBNco designated New Development Area. Network Termination Device The nbn™ Network Termination Device (NTD) is a connection box provided by nbn to connect your premises to the access network. This connection box may look a bit different dependant on the technology available at your address and the device requires power to operate. Please note: This device is separate to your modem (either supplied by us if selected at sign up, or BYO). If the NTD is not present there may be a delay in activation until your NTD can be dispatched. Medical disclaimer Your nbn service will not work during a power outage. This means that you will not be able to make any calls using a service which relies on an active internet service to work (such as VoIP). FTTP enabled properties are able to continue with UNI-V functionality if an nbn battery backup is installed and working. Medical/security alarms; If you have a Back to Base Security Alarm or Medi-Alert connected to your phone service, it's important you contact your medical or security provider to check if they're compatible with the nbn service and identify what alternatives are available. The actual speeds you experience, particularly during busy periods, may be limited by demand in other parts of the network and will typically be much slower. Typical Evening Speed explained Typical Evening Speed is the average speed experienced by a representative group of users between the hours of 7pm and 11pm. It is not a guaranteed minimum speed and past performance is not an indication of expected future speed. The actual speed you will experience depends on many factors such as your access technology, the total demand on the network, local internet traffic and your physical line condition. For more information see about nbn™ speeds. Changing your plan You can switch between Exetel Fibre plans no more than once each month. Your plan change will come into effect from the date your next invoice is issued so long as you have submitted your plan change request 2 days before your invoice issue date. Changes submitted less than 2 days before your next invoice is issued will take effect the following month. The cost of your new plan will appear on your next invoice. When you change your Exetel Broadband plan to another Exetel Broadband plan the following adjustments will apply: * Pro rata credit: You will receive a pro rata credit for any unused portion of the current month. This credit will be applied the first month of your new Exetel Broadband plan. * New Customers: If you are a new customer and change plan to a higher speed tier before the end of your first 6 months promotional pricing, the remaining months of your promotional pricing will be transferred to your new plan if available, prorated for the remainder of the months remaining in the discount period of the original Exetel plan only.
