relation to golf course surveying. An aerial survey of a golf course would prove
invaluable for greenkeepers to see the condition of the turf and exactly where

Found Solent Sky Services via an internet search for drone surveys as we were
concerned that there were some slipped tiles on our roof, and the only other
option was to hire scaffold.
Mike responded to our initial request very promptly, and surprisingly, said he
could complete the job the next day (a Sunday) as long as relevant permissions
were available.
...  Arriving at time suggested, Mike confirmed with us the exact areas of
concern, informed us what the plan was, checked we had informed neighbours
(purely for privacy) and prepared to launch a small drone.
30 minutes later, the entire roof had been surveyed with Mike explaining exactly
what he was doing all the time.
This morning, we have reviewed high-quality 72 images and videos of very good
clarity, and that cover 100% of our roof (and a couple of wider angle views for
reference).
Solent Sky Services have provided us a very rapid, professional and good value
service that has given us confidence that if any work is required, we can use
these images as references; something we would not have got using scaffolding.

which may be the cause of leaks and justify the considerable cost of scaffolding

I would highly recommend Solent Sky Services for video work. Mike and his team
are incredibly friendly, approachable and easy to work with. We met once at the
wedding venue for a walk around and Mike made suggestions for shots and talked
me through how the day would go and where they would be etc. Both videographers
that attended were incredibly professional and ... just blended in with the flow
of the day and we honestly didn't notice they were there! The final video was
produced relatively quickly considering how much footage they had but they
stayed in touch with us throughout the process keeping us updated. The end
product was perfect. It was just what we wanted and it captured the whole day
just how we remembered it. Overall the whole experience was great from start to

SSS carried out a camera on pole survey of 5 of our properties (drone survey not
possible due to licensing restrictions in a built-up area). On the day, they had
to repair the pole with gaffer tape because it broke. Despite that, photographs
produced were excellent and assisted us in assessing any damage caused by the
recent storms. Price was very reasonable a... nd certainly much cheaper than
having to erect scaffolding to take a look. We'll probably have this survey
carried out once a year, it was invaluable.  read more

Mike and Sara have produced some fantastic aerial video and photographs of
Portsmouth City Council events including Armed Forces Day, Southsea Food
Festival and the International Kite Festival enabling us to market the events
more effectively.

Mike and Sara are both lovely and keen to understand our requirements whilst
also being able to offer their prof... essional advice based on their extensive
knowledge and experience to ensure they achieved what we were after.

It was great to be able to try and work creatively with Mike at the Kite
Festival, sadly we weren't able to undertake the drone footage we would have
liked due to the weather but the planning of it really showed Mike's enthusiasm
and creativity, hopefully something we will be able to undertake at next year's
event!

We had an amazing evening with Mike & Sara learning to fly a drone. After
learning all about safety requirements we found the perfect spot on a busy
Eastney beach to practice our flying skills & what fun it was!

I was a bit apprehensive at first, the thought of having control of the fragile
looking but expensive bit of kit worried me, but once M... ike had clarified
each control with me I got a bit carried away with the fun of it & was trying to
spot our group on the beach for a selfie.
I couldn't believe how stable but responsive the drone was, even with the gusts
of the off-shore breeze. The hardest thing was remembering to keep an eye on the
actual drone while using the controls & considering photo or video shots from
the screen all at the same time, but this would get easier as you got used to
the controls.
I would highly recommend the experience to anyone with an interest in drones and
think a drone lesson would make a perfect & original birthday gift.  read more

Having been in the fortunate position of winning a flying session with Mike, I
just wanted to leave a quick note on behalf of me and Nicola to say a huge
'Thank You' to Mike @ Solent Sky Services for giving us the opportunity to go
drone flying with him down the beach at Eastney.

It goes without saying that the weather was fantastic and we had a very hot... 
and enjoyable evening out in the sunshine.

As you can imagine, Mike's incredibly knowledgeable and we had a very
comprehensive safety briefing before getting the chance to take the controls of
his drone and take a some photos and videos.

Mike made it look very easy (he handled all the take-offs and landings) and once
the drone reached 50 metres, he gave us a quick explanation of the controls
befopre handing them over.

We couldn't believe how easy it was to fly and we both loved taking control. The
drone was incredibly stable and simply hovers if you release all of the
controls. And you can see the view from the drone's camera on the control panel.

After flying up and down the beach (I can't believe how two and a half hours
flew by) and taking some photos and videos, we're now just looking forward to
seeing the results from our efforts.

I met Mike whilst using his excellent services in relation to Building Surveying
but I was also interested in his other venture of aerial imagery particularly in
relation to golf course surveying. An aerial survey of a golf course would prove
invaluable for greenkeepers to see the condition of the turf and exactly where
they need to add more fertilisers or weed ... control chemicals. A great money
saver! And the images obtained would look great on the clubhouse wall, website
or within a course planner. Mike and his other drone pilots are right at the
cutting edge of the latest drone technology and imagery and I wish them all the
