OPEN PORT AREA (ECO-FRIENDLY ELECTRIC CAR TOUR)

The Open Port Area in Jung-gu is a popular walking tour course in Incheon. The
area preserves the scenery of the port opening period in the late 1800s when
foreign trade became more active, which was followed by the establishment of
residential and business buildings for people from other countries such as the
Qing dynasty and Japan as well as the construction of Korea’s first modern-style
park, bank, and hotels. Visitors aboard an eco-friendly car can stop by Incheon
Open Port Museum which displays the relics from 130 years ago, Incheon Art
Platform, a warehouse reborn as a cultural and artistic space, Chinatown, and
Jajangmyeon Museum that used to be Gonghwachun, the first Chinese restaurant in
Korea.

SINPO INTERNATIONAL MARKET

Sinpo International Market which used to introduce foreign goods during the port
opening era, is now one of the most representative markets in Incheon selling
groceries, snacks, and daily necessities. Also, each alley of the market offers
its own distinctive feature such as fruit and vegetable stores, seafood vendors,
side dishes stores, and repair shops, which allows visitors to enjoy a variety
of things to see. Particularly, this market is famous for the snacks originated
from here including Dakgangjeong (sweet and spicy fried chicken), Gonggalppang
(puffy bread), Jjolmyeon (chewy wheat noodle), and five-color dumplings.

various special exhibitions of foreign artists’ artworks and invitational

concept of nature, harmony and interaction, consists of three open spaces, which
has been recognized as a beautiful piece of art.

JEONDEUNGSA TEMPLE

Jeondeungsa Temple is the oldest temple in Korea constructed by Priest
Adohwasang in the 11th year of King Sosurim of Goguryeo era (381). Main
sanctuary building of the temple called Daewoongjeon, one of the national
treasures, has the Seated Three Wooden Buddha Statue and was rebuilt in the 13th
year of Gwanghae-gun of the Joseon dynasty after it was destroyed by fire.
Featuring a hip and gable roof, this scenic temple is one of the most important

GYEONGBOKGUNG PALACE

Built in 1395, Gyeongbokgung Palace is commonly referred to as the Northern
Palace because its location is furthest north when compared to the neighboring
palaces of Changdeokgung (Eastern Palace) and Gyeonghuigung (Western Palace).
Gyeongbokgung Palace is arguably the most beautiful and remains the largest of
all five palaces. Remarkably, the most representative edifices of the Joseon
dynasty, Gyeonghoeru Pavilion and the pond around Hyangwonjeong Pavilion have
remained relatively intact.

BUKCHON HANOK VILLAGE

Surrounded by Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace and Jongmyo Shrine,
Bukchon Hanok Village is home to hundreds of traditional houses, called hanok,
that date back to the Joseon dynasty. The name Bukchon, which literally
translates to "northern village," came about as the neighborhood lies north of
two significant Seoul landmarks, Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno. Today, many
of these hanoks operate as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants and tea
houses, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience, learn and immerse
themselves in traditional Korean culture.
