Microsoft (MSFT – Research Report), the Technology sector company, was revisited
by a Wall Street analyst yesterday. Analyst Alex Zukin from Wolfe Research
maintained a Buy rating on the stock and has a $495.00 price target.

Alex Zukin has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors relating to
Microsoft’s recent strategic resegmentation and its implications for future
growth. This reorganization aligns Microsoft’s financial reporting more closely
with its go-to-market and operational strategies, which in turn provides clearer
visibility into core business segments, especially the cloud services including
Azure. Zukin’s optimism is further bolstered by the updated Azure growth rates,
which have been revised upwards, reflecting a stronger-than-anticipated
contribution from AI technologies.
Moreover, the resegmentation allows Microsoft to consolidate its commercial
offerings, such as Office 365 Commercial and Windows Commercial revenue, into
the Productivity and Business Processes (PBP) segment, enhancing the coherence
of revenue streams. The financial restatements provided by Microsoft,
specifically regarding Azure’s growth and AI’s increasing contribution, support
Zukin’s positive outlook. The expectation that Microsoft’s growth acceleration
in the second half of the year will persist, despite the resegmentation, further
solidifies the Buy rating as it suggests sustained strong performance and
potential upside in the stock’s valuation.

In another report released yesterday, Loop Capital Markets also maintained a Buy
rating on the stock with a $500.00 price target.

MSFT’s price has also changed slightly for the past six months – from $407.540
to $413.490, which is a 1.46% increase.
