JEWELLERY




GEORGE II WALNUT SOFA IN GREEN
HANDMADE FORTUNY VELVET FABRIC

An English,  George II period sofa crafted from walnut featuring a serpentine
back,  shaped apron,
and cabriole legs.


EDWARDIAN PERIOD, 18KT YELLOW GOLD AQUAMARINE & DIAMOND RING

Completely handmade perhaps the most beautiful detail in this ring is the hand
pierced basket setting holding the central stone. The ring,  which dates to
circa 1910,  is unmarked but is likely English in origin and is in beautiful
condition for something over 100 years of age.


GRAND DEMILUNE BUFFET BY JOSEF HOFFMANN,
EXECUTED BY J&J KOHN CIRCA 1905

Grand demilune buffet in mahogany and burl wood designed by Josef Hoffman for
J&J Kohn. Previously passed through Sotheby's Monaco in 1986 and later through
Sotheby's New York. The piece retains its original retailing plaque to the
inside indicating it was manufactured in Autria,  however was destined to be
retailed in Paris,  circa 1905.


SET OF 6 MIES VAN DER ROHE
'MR10' CHAIRS BY KNOLL

This set of six chairs were designed by Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe (1886-1969) and
executed by Knoll in a design known as MR10. Mies Van Der Rohe first designed
the MR10 in 1927 and since then they have become a design classic.


TRIANGULAR LAPIS LAZULI SPECIMEN BOX
FROM FLORENCE

An exceedingly beautiful lapis lazuli specimen box crafted and retailed by
'Pitti Mosaici' in Firenze (Florence). The piece is in superb condition and
appears to have rarely been used,  or if so,  very carefully.


21 PIECE TEASET BY GIO PONTI FOR
JOHANN HAVILAND OF BAVARIA CRICA 1932

The piece is also marked for its retailer,  Fredrich Schulte who was in
Iserlohn,  Germany. Gio Ponti designed this particular set originally for
Italian manufacturer Richard Ginori for which he was an art director in the Art
Deco period.


ART DECO SILVER CIGARETTE BOX DESIGNED BY 
JOHAN ROHDE FOR GEORG JENSEN, CIRCA 1920

The crisp Jensen markings date the piece to between 1915 and 1935 and it has an
exact date mark for '1920' giving a year of manufacture. Entirely hand beaten
this box is in exceptional condition and is free of monogram which is rare for a
piece of this age.


PAUL MILLET FLAMBE GLAZE VASE WITH PEWTER MOUNTS

A beautiful example of the work of French designer Paul Milet of Sevres in the
form of a flambe glaze vase. In incredible condition for a piece nearing 100
years of age,  the vase only has a couple of minor signs of wear which are
commensurate with age.


THREE PIECE STERLING SILVER COFFEE SET IN
THE 'DIRECTIONAL' PATTERN BY GORHAM, CIRCA 1956

A three-piece coffee set in sterling silver and ebony by American maker Gorham, 
circa 1956. The modernist design is Gorham's 'Directional' pattern which
perfectly demonstrates the influence of biomorphic aesthetics in 1950s American
silver and was first produced in 1955.


SWEDISH STERLING SILVER BOX OR SUGAR CHEST BY AXEL GABRIEL DUFVA

A really beautiful Swedish sterling silver lockable box or sugar chest from the
early 20th Century. The handcrafted box was made in Stockholm in 1916 by 'Axel
Gabriel Dufva' (1822-1897) who by this stage had passed away and his company was
being run by his sons Harald Gabriel & John Helmer.

DIAMOND FLOWER EAR CLIPS

A magnificent pair of ruby and diamond ear clips set in 18 karat yellow gold.
Likely dating to the 1950s or 1960s,  these ear clips are an exceptional example
of Retro period jewellery.


BOUCHERON, ROCK CRYSTAL, EMERALD 
& GOLD CUFFLINKS & DRESS STUD SET

An exceptional boxed men's dress set crafted from rock crystal,  emeralds and 18
karat yellow gold by the French jeweller,  Boucheron. The five piece set retains
its original retailing box and is marked to the silk inside of the lid
'Boucheron'.





18KT GOLD SHELL BROOCH PIN BY 
GEORGES L'ENFANT FOR TIFFANY & CO.

An incredible French 18 karat yellow gold shell brooch crafted by Georges
L'Enfant for Tiffany & Company in France during the mid 20th century. An
absolutely exceptional piece of Mid Century jewellery by one of the hottest
names in French jewel history.

The Antique Guild while also studying fine art at Griffith University. His
knowledge of jewellery and fine art in particular has been a resource put to
very good use by our clients over the years and his fastidious attention to
every piece of our collection makes him an invaluable part of our team. In
James' personal collection you'll find rare pieces by design icon Josef Hoffman
and Australian artists like Dorothy Braund.
