Join Jus June 22nd at Hauptbahnhof Zurich in the big hall for a night of dance from 8 PM to 2 AM. Cie zeitSprung, led by Meret Schlegel and Kilian Haselbeck, works extensively in public spaces. They have become experts in engaging with different people through dance. At the Sommernachtsball, they will dance with the audience, creating small, magical moments together. And all of this will happen free from the constraints of traditional partner dance steps. June 12, 2024 * Dance on Tour Jukebox dancer is part of Dance on Tour at the 19th edition of Das Tanzfest May 1-5 2024. Das Tanzfest presents a selection of thirteen professional Swiss dance groups which will tour Switzerland. Jukebox Dancer will come to Fribourg/Bulle, Vevey, Morges and Rapperswil. April 4, 2024 * Premiere of EN ROUTE Back on the road again at the beginning of September, we will premiere our new production EN ROUTE! at the Théâtre ABC in La Chaux-de-Fonds in coproduction with ADN – Danse Neuchâtel. EN ROUTE! Off we go in hectic times. How can we process all this when so much is happening at the same time, such as here in La Chaux-de-Fonds? How do we perceive time in everyday life? We all have our own idea of time, knowing that Einstein said something about “relative”. Who understands that? We don’t really either. So we take you on a journey through time with dance, live music, and video on stages of different places. September 6 / 9 and 10, Théâtre ABC, La Chaux-de-Fonds. November Helferei Zürich August 19, 2023 * fragile July 9th Meret will premiere her new Solo called fragile as a special site specific version for the Festival Hinterhalt in Uster. fragile is a piece about the theme of the fragility of skin, paper and body, transience and fragility. For quite some time Meret Schlegel has been preoccupied with the theme of skin: skin, envelope, demarcation. Skin, our largest organ, loses with time more and more of its elasticity. Skin becomes paper and at the same time more and more fragile and vulnerable. Both skin and paper hold traces of time, both are witnesses of transience. With the solo fragile Meret Schlegel takes the audience on a journey through the traces of time in a site-specific version in the open air. May 29, 2023 * Yellow Yellow is coming back to Zürich 23rd and 24th of June during Festival About Us in Zürich Albisrieden. Zebra crossings, red lights, GO! The yellow waves are coming! Crosswalk dancing with zeitSprung Kilian Haselbeck und Meret Schlegel with Stiftung FREIZEIT and Manel Salas Palau. In this polyphonic choreography of the city, we move in a free space between rules which define our rhythms: green – walk, red – stop, no turning here, park in blue zones… But how big is the freedom in these free spaces actually? Can we find our own new rules for this urban board? “Yellow” is an ode to the liberty of movement in the city, a short disruption of our automated behaviour in an urban space. With zebra crossings as dance floors and traffic as maker, the pedestrians will do more than just passing one another. Come and discover the turbulent polonaise-like the pedestrian Stop-and-Go or the BananaLoca. But be aware, the Yellow Wave is infectious! Dates May 29, 2023 * 10 years zeitSprung 10 years ago at the Tanzhaus Zürich our piece Orthopädie or to be premiered. In 2015 it received the Swiss Dance Award. We have been performing it more than 60 times all around the world. Many more pieces and projects were born in the past years and we still have no intention to stop. Thank you to all who have been supporting us all these years. It’s been a beautiful journey with a lot of sweating, almost impossible deadlines, laughs, tears, making friends all over the world and memories that will forever stay with us. Lots of Love from Meret and Kilian, zeitSprung More Pictures March 25, 2023 * Wishing Wishes Last but not least, the dance project **Wishing Wishes** by artasfoundation and Armenian collaborators came to an end with two wonderful touching performances in Dilijan and Yerevan. Unfortunately, the resurgence of border clashes didn’t let us tour through the participants villages. We feel very privileged to have been creating and dancing with all these young teenagers, Armenian colleagues, spending time together and learning from one another. February 1, 2023 * JUKEBOX DANCER Kilian is busy creating his solo Jukebox Dancer. A first version of Jukebox Dancer happened during the exhibition “last words from the periphery” at theOff.space curated by Rocco A. de Filippo and Olena Iegorova. The piece is now being expanded with ZÜRICH TANZT 2023 as a co-producer for the new edition. Natures infinite creativity lives within all of us. In this Solo Kilian explores all we could or dream of being. He mutates in no time from a disco queen to a cowboy, from a mermaid to Michael Jackson, but also from an improvisation artist to a virtuos ballet dancer. It is about discovering the diversity of our being. In this Solo, Kilian is giving room to our beautiful colourful existence and lets it blossom. February 1, 2023 * EN ROUTE! in La Chaux de Fonds In collaboration with Théâtre ABC La Chaux-de-Fonds and ADN – Danse Neuchâtel we are creating our new piece EN ROUTE!. The premiere is September 6. – 10. and will be the season’s opening at ABC for 2023. We are happy to share the stage with Andrea Beugger (dance), Christian Weber (music) and Bartek Sozanski (film). Last July during the summer holidays we had a first residency and explored the world famous watchmaker’s town. We were inspired by its architecture, its slowed down rhythm, its clocks and presence of time and also the beauty of surroundings nature. At the beginning of January, we came back for a second residency expecting lots of snow, and therefore a totally different rhythm and perception of the town. Well, times they are a changing – no snow at all! We will bring these explorations and our perception of the city into the theatre to let a diverse audience of all ages discover their town through dance music and our eyes. Surprise yourself, your memory and perception of La Chaux-de-Fonds by amazing interactions between dance, music, video and the stage. On July 9, 4 pm public performance fragile as the conclusion of the residency, followed by a talk and aperitif. June 16, 2022 * Three events within the next 10 days! 1. Our new created Performance Rave “BTG – Bridging the Gap” a collaboration with Reut Nahum, Ilona Kannewurf and Nello Novela at the Landesmuseum Zürich. We are party culture creators for all universal beings. Getting curious? Rave with us at the Landesmuseum LATE 25th November from 7 pm. 2. Another chance to see our duet “Orthopädie or to be” at Kurtheater Baden on the 27th of November at 8 pm. This piece received the Swiss Dance award in 2015. 3. performing again “Je vous suis” by Orélie Fuchs Chen A coproduction by Association dansehabile and Association astérisque, in corealisation with Laténium and ADN – Danse Neuchâtel. November 24, 2021 * Tour with Komplizen RELOADED in Ukraine After two years we will be on stage again as Komplizen. Beginning of November we will be on tour in Odessa and Kiev with our piece Komplizen RELOADED. In partnership with Anton Ovchinnikov and the Ukrainian Association “Contemporary Dance Platform” we will perform and teach a workshop. This weeklong workshop will be open for everybody of all backgrounds and ages who are up for dancing, creating and performing with us. November 6th – 10th workshop in Odessa November 11th Performance in Odessa Performance in Kiev November 13th October 29, 2021 * Artasfoundation We see and experience our collaboration with artasfoundation, the Swiss foundation for art in conflict regions, as an important and enriching commitment. In May 2021 Meret and Kilian spent one week in the Ukraine together with Dagmar Reichert from artasfoundation. With Tanzlaboratorium Kiev, our local artistic partners we traveled to Marjupol East of the Crimea. Here we met different associations to find potential partners for a collaboration for next year. Instead of last fall, Meret and Kilian could start the project “Wishing Wishes” in Armenia in June 2021. For the first workshop with children and teenagers from small villages of conflict regions along the border. For one week we stayed in Dilijan in the mountains. We all lived and danced in a center and taught together with four local Armenian dance teachers. In the fall,- the second workshop will take place, where we will create a piece to tour next year in the home villages of the participants in the conflict regions. More Pictures September 7, 2021 * KILIAN HASELBECK dances in the new production by ORÉLIE FUCHS CHEN & DANSEHABILE JE VOUS SUIS / 2E With eight artists, dancers, actors, a sculptor-performer and a 13-year-old teenager, Orélie Fuchs Chen explores the limits of life and disability. For two weeks, the troupe takes over the Laténium in Neuchatel Switzerland for a poetic creation inspired by the beauty of origins. Before the performances, the audience can discover the artists at work, along the water. The author and director from Neuchâtel unfolds her dreamlike creations in words, sound and images. On the initiative of Cie dansehabile, she is developing a new version of a project initiated at the Musée de Penthes in Geneva with the Zurich dancer-choreographer Kilian Haselbeck, this time at the Laténium. It was very touching and enriching for all of us to experience right away how everybody got involved with our playful approach to dance and music and how we all got inspired and could immerse ourselves. Our appreciation for this wonderful exchange is beyond words, the magical moments were unique and very special. To be honest, the whole journey was a lot more than performing and teaching. It was an experience and learning about the world, us and people and their cultures. It showed us once again how art has the power to melt the ice! For everybody involved the many encounters were inspiring, touching and they will keep resonating for a long time. The responsibility of our privileged position is big and not taken for granted! It is important that something sustainable will evolve to keep growing for everybody involved. The journey will continue and bring us to new frontiers.
