Newsweek is the latest outlet to publish AI-assisted stories. The newsroom is
already using AI for video production, first drafts, and a new breaking news
team.

Considering how often the news media gets the facts wrong or omits important
details, I am not sure using AI would make much of a difference. They are
already unreliable when it comes to accuracy. So using a tool that produces
unvetted inaccurate results seems to be in line with what they are already
doing.

Here's a nice controversial post for you. Sex is natural and a common human
experience. Is it our only purpose though? And although sex is natural, what
about situations where people get hurt?

has a billion years of design behind it. It's foolproof.

Do you think you're clever for figuring it out yourself? An idiot can figure it

Teenagers are focused almost exclusively on sex. Every single thing they do is
filtered through that focus. You're not going to change this no matter how much
you think you ought to. We are designed to make babies.

From Nature's standpoint it is our ONLY relevant function. Yes. Only. Our only
relevant function is to pass on our genes. Everything else is decoration. The
big brains, high IQ, multitude of talents, all exist or are side-effects of
improvements in our ability to win mates and pass on our genes.

The problem is that parents stick their heads in the sand and don't want to
think about the fact that their children become sexual beings as soon as they
reach puberty. Does that mean they should be having sex that young? No. But
these adolescents need guidance so they make the right decisions and don't get
tricked by someone who just wants to use them.

Wikimedia Russia has been dissolved.

The general assembly of Wikimedia RU decided to disband after it was made clear
to the president of Wikimedia RU, who used to work as an assistant professor at
Lomonosov Moscow State University, that he was to be classified as a "foreign
agent" and had to resign from his post at the university.

Closing Wikimedia RU was done to protect the (now former) members of the
non-profit organization that supports Russian Wikipedia.

It was illegal on the federal level, but not the state level. It's a weird quirk
of being part of a federal union. For example, murder and speeding are state
level crimes, but illegal immigration and money laundering are federal crimes.

Before this law, immigration enforcement was handled almost exclusively by
federal agents (usually by U.S. Customs and Border Protection) and people would
be prosecuted in federal courts.

With this law, the state is making it a state crime, which means state and local
police can enforce the law, and people who illegally cross the border can be
tried in state courts.

It should be interesting to see how this plays out. I am pretty sure the federal
government will challenge the state law, and it might wind up in front of the
Supreme Court to decide if a state has the authority to enforce immigration law.
It could be argued both ways.

I just visited a site that 'archives' articles from 2015. The majority of links
no longer works.

What to do? You could archive pages, and link to the archived pages (I've seen
many people do this). But how durable is that? Will those archival sites exist
still in 10 years time?

I'm used to consulting books that are centuries old. That we're unable now to
archive digital stuff for longer than a couple of years is terrifying. #archives

Corporatism is loosely defined as large corporations taking control over many
aspects of society.

Capitalism is a system where people can start their own businesses,
cooperatives, and employee-owned companies for their own economic benefit.
Modern capitalist countries have anti-trust laws designed to limit monopolies
and cartels.

Crony capitalism is a corruption of capitalism, where corporations have
significant influence and control over politics and a country's laws.

And as the Cartel Institute, we can say that we fully support corporatism and
crony capitalism, and are squarely against capitalism. It is hard to take over
the world if people have economic freedom, and capitalism gives people too much
economic freedom. Only us, the elites, should have all of the money and power.
