CRAFTING QUALITY GRAPHIC DESIGN AND FINISHED ART FOR 20 YEARS

Small is good. More personal. That’s what Sharpshooter is: a small, independent
graphic design studio based in Dublin, Ireland.

Much of what you can get from a large, multidisciplinary graphic design agency
you can also get from a smaller, specialist agency at a significantly lower
cost. Here at Sharpshooter, the particular specialities on offer are
graphic design and finished art for web and print.

So, if you’re looking for graphic design that will help get your company noticed
or fast and precise finished artworking for your busy studio, you’ve come to
the right place.

EYE-CATCHING, CLEAN AND CLEVER GRAPHIC DESIGN

Great design can enhance your company’s image and help your business grow. It
can help you get noticed and get your message across. Sharpshooter’s house style
is clean and engaging, without unnecessary distraction, perfect for company
logos and stationery suites, reports and other corporate or technical
documentation, brochures and other marketing material, newsletters and online
and print advertising.

REPORTS AND ANNUAL REPORTS

Reports, including annual reports and other corporate or technical documents,
need an approach of their own. There is always lot of content involved – text,
tables, graphs and charts – and the reader needs to be kept engaged. There is a
danger of them being hit with information overload, waylaid by unnecessary
distractions or confused by a cluttered and disordered layout.

What’s needed here is a clean, uncluttered and consistent design: easily legible
text and tables laid out in an organised grid, attractive graphs and charts and
plenty of white space to give the eye a rest.

Sharpshooter’s clean and uncluttered house style is perfectly suited to reports,
manuals, user guides and all other corporate or technical publications. Have a
look through the sample projects below to see how effective this design style
can be, even when there’s a lot of information involved.

BROCHURES AND CATALOGUES

Brochures, catalogues and other promotional documents need to be designed so
they grab attention. Photography (commissioned or from stock image libraries),
graphics (charts and infographics) and other graphic elements play a big part
in getting your target audience engaged and keeping them engaged and interested
in reading on.

LEAFLETS, MAILERS AND FLYERS

Leaflets, flyers and mailers are designed in much the same way: they need to
grab attention. But, with a lot less space to work with and a throwaway culture
to counter, they need a bolder approach. Imagery, colour, strong typography and
a concise message can all help grab the reader’s attention before the urge to
use the recycling bin strikes.

NEWSLETTERS

The approach to designing newsletters is similar to that for brochures but,
because of the nature of their content (mostly short pieces on differing
subjects), newsletters need to be laid out in a clean, organised grid. As more
than one article will often appear on a page, clear division between them is
needed. This can be achieved with strong typography, white space, colour-coding
or graphic elements such as lines. Take a look through some of the projects
further down the page to see how these methods can be used to improve the
reader’s experience.

INFOGRAPHICS

Data can be dry and unappealing for the reader. Infographics are a way
of presenting important elements of that data – small nuggets of information –
in an appealing way using graphics and small amounts of text. They make data
interesting. Take a look at the Center for Applied Research ‘White Glove’
infographic in the projects section below for an example of a clean,
engaging infographic.

USER GUIDES AND MANUALS

User guides, manuals and other technical documents contain a lot of detailed
information. They demand a clean, organised layout with plenty of white space
and clear graphics (graphs, charts and illustrations) so that the reader doesn’t
become overwhelmed by information overload. They need to be designed in an
uncomplicated but engaging way. In the projects below and throughout this
website you’ll see examples of clean layout and clear graphics, perfectly suited
to this type of document.

COMPANY LOGOS

Your company’s logo is a valuable part of your company’s brand. It’s a visual
cue that, if you’re an established brand, reminds your customers of everything
your company means to them. If you’re newly established or breaking into new
markets, it’s a visual introduction that tells your potential customers
something about your company. An asset this important needs to be carefully
considered. It needs to have thought and research behind it and needs to be
something that will last.

Your logo is the central key in your company’s corporate identity. It appears on
all of your corporate communications: on business cards, stationery, reports,
proposals and more. All of these elements of your corporate identity need to be
designed to create a harmonious and consistent visual package. And when
this work is completed, you can create a set of brand guidelines to ensure
standards and consistency are maintained. Click through some past and recent
logo projects further down the page to find out more about each.

FINISHED ART

Finished art is a specialist phase of the graphic design process which happens
after the design for a print or web project has been decided. Now work begins on
finalising the project: applying the chosen design across all elements of the
project; preparing final assets (such as web-ready files or print-ready
artwork); and bringing the whole project quickly and efficiently to completion.
This is where the skillset of the specialist finished artist comes into play.

Take a look at the Finished Art page to find out more.

ONE-TO-ONE SERVICE

Whether you call it a USP, a point of difference or simply a bonus, one of
the great benefits of working with a smaller graphic design agency is personal
service and that’s exactly what you get here. No account executives or
middle‑men, just one‑to‑one service. From the beginning, the focus has been on
personal service and competitive pricing and that’s the way it will stay.

RELIABILITY

Over the past 20 years, Sharpshooter has built up a solid reputation and is
trusted by businesses, agencies and in‑house creative teams based both here in
Ireland and further afield – from the UK to Europe, Asia and the US – to provide
a fast, reliable and personal service.

BRAND GUARDIAN

When you’ve gone to the effort and expense of developing your brand, you have an
important and valuable asset that needs to be protected. Consistency and
unfailingly high quality across all your design and finished art projects
is key. Extensive experience working with established brands ensures that your
brand guidelines are followed to the letter and that standards never slip.
Your brand is in safe hands.
