Step-by-step guide 💯 HOW IS MY GREENLY SCORE CALCULATED? * Updated 4 months ago The aim of the Greenly Score is to appreciate the progress of companies at each stage of their carbon strategy: carrying out and publishing a GHG report, engaging partners and company ecosystems, reducing emissions and contributing to climate projects. Greenly users are invited to use this tool to structure their carbon strategy by following the different scoring stages described below. The Maximum Score is 100 points distributed in the following way: * Creating / fine-tuning your Greenhouse Gas report: 40 points * Setting action plans and climate targets: 40 points * Involving your partners: 10 points * Contributing to offset projects: 10 points CREATING AND FINE-TUNING YOUR GREENHOUSE GAS REPORT (40 POINTS) Creating your GHG Survey (25) The 25 points given for the creation of the Survey depends on your progress on our platform: completing your profile (2 points), importing your transactions (5 points), categorizing transactions (10 points), sending the partner questionnaire (5 points). Finally, 3 points are awarded for publishing the report, a crucial step in committing to transparency. This may be done after finishing fine-tuning emission calculations, and is ideally accompanied by the announcement of climate targets. Fine-tuning your GHG Survey (15 points) The points given for fine-tuning your GHG report depend on the approval percentage of transactions, and on the completion of different Greenly modules: building module, IT equipment, work travel, website, etc. Your Greenly contact will suggest modules dedicated to your business sector and points will be awarded once these are completed. SETTING ACTION PLANS AND CLIMATE TARGETS (40 POINTS) Climate targets (10 points) Defining and announcing your climate targets is an essential element to your carbon strategy. This will help you in setting a long-term horizon and help identify action plans to achieve your short-term objectives. Climate targets can be taken into account in absolute terms or in carbon footprint by employee / by turnover in €. Science Based Targets offer a methodological framework to set climate targets. Points awarded for climate targets are given proportionally according to the percentage of yearly reduction set out in your targets, as well as according to the type of reduction in question (absolute emission in % tCO2e, emission by revenue unit in %tCO2e / € or by employee in % tCO2e / partner). Points will be added to your score once they are disclosed publicly, for example via communication on social media or on your website. Fulfilling your action plans (24 points) Points attributed to the fulfillment of action plans depend on two factors: * The relative weight of the emission source targeted by the action plan (evaluated relative to the source’s importance in regard to total emission) * The impact of the action plan (coefficient defined by Greenly) Example based on computer equipment : If emissions linked to computer equipment represent 10% of all emissions of the company, one can gain 2.4 points by addressing this emission source (10% of points dedicated to action plans). Action plans suggested by Greenly are the following: * Buying reconditioned equipment (5x coef.) * Prolonging equipment lifespan (5x coef.) * Purchase of double SIM phones in order to avoid professional / personal phone purchases (2x coef.) If the company puts in place a policy of purchasing reconditioned equipment, the awarded points will be calculated in the following way: Points Awarded = Total action plan points * % of emission source * (Action plan coefficient / Sum of emission source coefficient points) Points Awarded = 24 * 10% * (5/12) Points Awarded = 1 This data will soon be added to the “Reduce” tab of the platform. Engaging your ecosystem (6 points) Points attributed to the supplier engagement program are a function of the portion of your emissions represented by suppliers engaged by you. A supplier is considered engaged once you have provided us with their contact information. INVOLVING YOUR PARTNERS (10 POINTS) Raising your partners' awareness of climate topics is an integral part of ADEME’s Bilan Carbone approach. Greenly offers various tools to involve your partners: * Internally presenting the Bilan Carbone approach: 2 points. * Greenly training quizzes: 6 points. * Training partners to the Climate Fresque approach: 2 points. CONTRIBUTING TO CARBON OFFSET PROJECTS (10 POINTS) Contribution to carbon sequestration or emission avoidance programs plays an essential role in respecting the Paris Agreement and reaching global carbon neutrality. The National Low Carbon Strategy (Stratégie Nationale Bas Carbone, SNBC) details the climate targets of France in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and notably envisions doubling France’s carbon sequestration capacity. Points awarded for project contribution correspond to the percentage of compensated emissions. * * * WAS THIS ARTICLE HELPFUL? Yes No 0 out of 0 found this helpful Have more questions?
