Asim Roy, MD is the medical director of the Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute. Board
certified in sleep medicine and neurology, he works in close collaboration with
health care providers to deliver continuous and coordinated sleep medicine care
to adult and pediatric patients. Dr. Roy brings a thorough and thoughtful
approach to patient care, in line with the comprehensive standards of our
institute. He is the author of various articles, chapters and books, covering,
among other topics, sleep and neurological disorders, restless legs syndrome,
idiopathic hypersomnia, confusional arousals and sleep walking, cataplexy and
REM sleep behavior disorder. Dr. Roy completed his neurology residency at
Georgetown University as Chief Resident and his sleep and neurophysiology
fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Roy and the Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute share a long history together. He
decided to specialize in sleep medicine following a rotation he spent at our
institute as an intern. Under the mentoring of the late Dr. Helmut Schmidt and
Dr. Markus Schmidt, he discovered the fascinating world of sleep medicine that
has now sparked a life-long interest. His professionalism, warm personality and
dedication to patient care are terrific assets to our institute.

A big proponent of education, he trains medical professionals on sleep disorders
management. He serves on the board of directors for the committee on
accreditation for polysomnographic technologist education. He is a member of the
American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Neurology, American
Medical Association and Columbus Medical Association.

Delhi, in 2011. Thereafter, he worked in various govt. and private hospitals.
Previously, he has worked in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (New Delhi), Fortis Hospital
(Mohali), Healing Touch Park Hospital (Ambala) and Max Superspeciality Hospital
(Mohali).
