MATTER, Inc. (Previously  Advanced Material Future Preparedness Taskforce or
AMPT) is an international Think Tank and Public-Benefit initiative focused on
using Advanced and Frontier Materials to help solve some of humanity's most
pressing challenges.
As an international cooperative platform, the multidisciplinary taskforce is
building a global infrastructure and an ecosystem network that enables the
Frontier Material stakeholders to devise and align agendas to use the materials
of the future to help our world today.

Transcending politics, territories, cultures and ideologies, nations, groups and
organizations come together to share knowledge and resources to use Advanced &
Frontier Materials for the betterment of human life.




In April of 2020, at the peak of the world challenges with Covid-19 Pandemic,
the AMPT taskforce was created to address the need for advanced material global
strategy & coordination for response to global health emergencies.
‍
The task force was created to establish a frame work to set strategies,
coordinate global activities and bring together  critical mass and resources
from multidisciplinary domains, including Engineering, Life & Health Sciences,
Public Health and Economics & Social Sciences.

Through a resource and knowledge-sharing approach, AMPT was set to identify
current and future needs to develop and implement innovative solutions based on
Advanced Materials in the pandemics and post pandemic era. By creating a library
of knowledge, extensive mapping of user centric needs, an expansive network of
scientific labs, advanced material companies, testing facilities, the taskforce
was positioned to formulate a roadmap delineating how advanced materials
solutions can be deployed at different phases of a pandemic such as COVID19
AMPT Continues its mission  to enable an infrastructure to  use Advanced &
Frontier Materials to solve complex multi scale challenges of global magnitude.

AMPT is pleased to announce a new global initiative: PUZZLE X, dedicated to
enabling materials of the future to help our world today through Frontier
Material commercialization and tech development. Supported by the Government of
Spain, Generalitat of Catalonia and Barcelona City Hall, PUZZLE X is a global
event + a 365-day venture builder bridging the worlds of Frontier Materials,
societal impact, entrepreneurship, corporate innovation with the United Nations
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

PUZZLE X 2021 was co-located with Smart City Expo World Congress Nov 16-18 in
Barcelona with over 1,100 in person attendees. The event brought togetherb
leading minds in the world of business, corporate innovation, science and
venture capital offering attendees the unique platform to XChange, Co-Create and
Ignite the next generation of products and cutting edge solutions for a more
sustainable world.

MATERIALS WITH IMMENSE POTENTIAL FOR USHERING A NEW ERA IN TECHNOLOGY AND
HERALDING NEW HOPES FOR HUMANITY.

The term "Frontier Materials" and its conceptual context was adopted by
AMPT Director General and gained use by AMPT in 2020 to introduce a class of
materials distinguished from the classical and much broader term "Advanced
Materials".
‍
Frontier materials such as Graphene, 2D, quantum and low dimensional materials
are marked by the rapid pace of research breakthroughs and developmental
interest as well as the significant degree of investment, nurture and
infrastructure support that is needed for them to reach  desired momentum.
Frontier materials have the potential to revolutionize and transform sectors and
domains akin to the modern transformation enabled by silicon. However, due to
their unique nature and R&D profile, implementation timelines and
characteristics will be different than those of advanced materials such as
composites or ceramics.

In 2020, the major focus of the taskforce has been to respond to the immediate
need for advanced & frontier material innovation for the Covid-19 pandemic.
Implementing the MATTER preparedness response platform and applying the
knowledge gathered through the 3 pillars of AMPT:
AMPT Library of Knowledge | AMPT mapping of user-centric, technological and
societal needs | and the AMPT network of Advanced Material resources and
expertise, the taskforce will provide an analysis of potential underserved areas
and current and future opportunities.
Leveraging the roadmap, the Taskforce will  set strategies for integration of
Advanced Materials in the new wave of innovation that will rise in the post
pandemic era and explore the next generation of solutions for the future global
health crisis.
‍
The scope of AMPT Future Preparedness expands way beyond pandemic, same action
pillars will be used to address any of challenges put at the focal point of the
taskforce.
