David and Rick always displayed a patient, “can-do” attitude even when we changed our minds and considered different options midway through the project. One of their greatest assets is their ability to visualize how a certain detail on the plans might be improved on the job. For instance, David suggested adding several old, reclaimed beams he had salvaged from an old building into the design of our expansion. Using a series of clever connection details, David tied together an attractive mixture of old, repurposed stained wood beams with new painted wood columns. Most of all, Collins Construction’s crews and subcontractors were highly skilled, trustworthy and very pleasant to work with during the entire duration of the job. We wouldn’t hesitate for one second to use David and Rick Collins again on our next job.
