SHIPS (SONG)

"Ships" is a rock ballad written and originally performed by British musician
Ian Hunter. The song was first released on Hunter's fourth solo album, You're
Never Alone with a Schizophrenic in 1979. It was later recorded by singer Barry
Manilow for his sixth studio album, One Voice. His version peaked at #9 on the
Billboard Hot 100. The song is said to be about Hunter's relationship with his
father.

SHIPS (BAND)

Ships (SHIPS (シップス), Shippusu) is a Japanese pop group consisting of Shikō Kanai
and Takuya Ide. The unit was created mainly for the anime Kirarin Revolution as
all members lend voices to characters in the series. They have released two
singles and have had two additional tracks appear on Kirarin Revolution
compilation albums.

3 SHIPS

3 Ships is the fourth solo album by Yes lead singer Jon Anderson, released on
Elektra Records in 1985. It includes versions of traditional Christmas carols as
well as original material by Anderson. The album title references the song "I
Saw Three Ships," which states, "I saw three ships come sailing in, on Christmas
day in the morning". It was dedicated to the organisation Beyond War.

The 'Holiday Card Pack, Jon Anderson Special Edition' came with a personal
autograph from Jon, as well as a set of five Christmas cards. Each card
displayed an image of an Anderson watercolour painting.

3 Ships was reissued on Compact Disc in 2007. This remastered '22nd Anniversary
Edition' contains all of the album's original songs, plus five bonus tracks, two
of which were previously unreleased.

RECEPTION

The album received only a single star from Sounds reviewer Hugh Fielder, who
called it a "soppy retreat from realism".

TANK

A tank is a large, heavily armoured fighting vehicle with tracks and a large
tank gun that is designed for front-line combat. Modern tanks are mobile land
weapon platforms, mounting a large-calibre cannon in a rotating gun turret. They
combine this with heavy vehicle armour which provides protection for the crew,
the vehicle's weapons, and its propulsion systems, and operational mobility, due
to its use of tracks rather than wheels, which allows the tank to move over
rugged terrain and be positioned on the battlefield in advantageous locations.
These features enable the tank to perform well in a tactical situation: the
combination of powerful weapons fire from their tank gun and their ability to
resist enemy fire means the tank can take hold of and control an area and
prevent other enemy vehicles from advancing. In both offensive and defensive
roles, they are powerful units able to perform key primary tasks required of
armoured units on the battlefield. The modern tank was the result of a century
of development from the first primitive armoured vehicles, due to improvements
in technology such as the internal combustion engine, which allowed the rapid
movement of heavy armoured vehicles. As a result of these advances, tanks
underwent tremendous shifts in capability during the World Wars of the 20th
century.

TANK (GAMING)

A tank (also known as a meat shield) is a style of character in gaming, often
associated with a character class. A common convention in real-time strategy
games, role-playing games, fighting games, multiplayer online battle arenas and
MUDs, tanks redirect enemy attacks or attention toward themselves in order to
protect other characters or units. Since this role often requires them to suffer
large amounts of damage, they rely on large amounts of vitality or armor,
healing by other party members, evasiveness and misdirection, or self
regeneration.

Tanks are often represented as large or heavily armored.

ROLE IN GAMES

"Tanking" occurs when the unit is intended to be the one taking damage
(typically by being dangerous or detrimental, or using a game mechanic that
forces it to be targeted), and secondly, to ensure that they can survive this
damage through sheer health points or mitigation.

In real-time strategy games the role of a tank unit is to provide a health
buffer for weaker ranged classes. Frequently maneuvering or other tactics are
used by the tank to make themselves the most tempting or highest-priority target
of enemy attacks, thereby diverting enemy attacks away from allies. Many basic
strategies in games such as StarCraft and Warcraft III revolve around learning
to micro-manage units so they attack tanks first so that the tanks do not
continually attack units.

Life At Sea In The Merchant Marine Aboard A Cargo Ship A ballast tank is a
compartment within a ship that holds water, which is used as ballast to
provide stability for a vessel. Periodically these tank compartments need to
be opened up, ventilated, and then entered to be inspected by ship's crew and
various regulatory agencies such as Lloyd's Register. Tanks are completely
pitch black, very humid, and often lined with mud and salt water when they
are inspected. Tanks must be ventilated and then tested for adequate oxygen
levels before entering. Anyone entering the tank must have someone on standby
outside the tank to assist in an emergency and remain in constant radio

* TANK SOUNDING AND CALCULATION IN SHIP

On board ship, it is very important to keep the updated record of the
quantity of liquids (in all forms) present in various tanks. One cannot
entirely depend on the automation and mechanical devices, especially when it
comes to those substances, for which, negligence can cause oil pollution and
machinery damages. Manual sounding is always preferred by all seafarers (deck
and engine crew/ officer) to recheck the level of the fluid in the tanks,
ensuring the tanks will not overflow or run dry in any case. In this video, i
have explained how sounding is done onboard, calculations using sounding
table and some common issues faced during sounding.

* CARGO TANK INSPECTION FOR OIL AND CHEMICAL TANKER SHIP

Corrosion to the internal surfaces of cargo tanks is a fact of life on oil
tankers, as the steel plates and supports are subjected to corrosive gases,
crude oil acids, and seawater along with temperature fluctuations and
structural flexing. The effect of the corrosion is to reduce the thickness of
the steel plates and supports, leading eventually over a period of time to
failure of the structure. The procedure required for entering an oil tanker
cargo tank is controlled by a Permit to Entry system, in the form of a
standard checklist. I have listed the fundamental requirements below, which
when actioned must be witnessed and signed by the Master or Chief Officer. A
