WHAT IS READSPEAKER TEXTAID?

ReadSpeaker TextAid is assistive technology for learning disabilities with
read-aloud technology and voice-enhanced learning tools to allow all students to
listen to audio while following along with highlighted text.


HOW MUCH DOES READSPEAKER TEXTAID COST?

ReadSpeaker TextAid pricing is the most cost-effective solution available today.
Individual subscriptions start at $4/month. Institutional and multi-user
licenses depend on the number of users.


CAN I USE TEXTAID ON ANY DEVICE? WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

TextAid works on just about any device, even an old one! A Mac/PC/Chromebook
with the latest version of Google Chrome is recommended for best results. Read
the TextAid product specifications here.


HOW DO I INSTALL READSPEAKER TEXTAID?

ReadSpeaker TextAid is web-based, which means no downloads and access on any
device. For institutions it can be easily integrated into any existing learning
management systems (LMS) and as an LTI Tool. The ReadSpeaker TextAid for Chrome
extension and other browser extensions can be integrated directly into your
browser.


HOW DO I TURN OFF READSPEAKER TEXTAID?

ReadSpeaker TextAid is web based, so you don’t need to ‘turn it off’. Simply log
out when you need to and log back in when you want to use it.


WHERE CAN I LOG IN TO READSPEAKER TEXTAID?

The ReadSpeaker TextAid login (link) can be found at the top of the TextAid page
on the ReadSpeaker website, so you can access it from any device. You can also
bookmark it for easier access.


HOW DO I TURN ON READSPEAKER TEXTAID IN CANVAS, BLACKBOARD OR ANOTHER LMS?

Implementing ReadSpeaker TextAid is easy. Just contact us to ‘turn it on’ in any
LMS. Having trouble or have questions? Our customer service is here to help.


DO I HAVE TO LOG INTO MY LMS EACH TIME I WANT TO USE TEXTAID?

No. The first time you click on TextAid your account is created. After that you
can bookmark the link or use the extension without going through your LMS. If
you see a login message when you access TextAid, click on the Login link and
enter your institutional email address and LMS password.


CAN ADMINISTRATORS SHARE BOOKS WITH A STUDENT?

A TextAid coordinator or administrator can share books and documents with
students. The materials will show under their TextAid library tab “Shared with
me.” Students cannot re-share these materials or move them to their OneDrive or
Google Drive.


CAN I DEPLOY TEXTAID TO ALL MY STUDENTS?

You can add the External Learning Tool to the Global menus in the same way that
you add them to course navigation.


CAN I USE TEXTAID FOR A GOOGLE EDUCATION DOMAIN?

If you use a Google domain for your institution, then you can deploy the TextAid
extension to all students or a select group of students by doing a force+pin to
their Chrome Browser.


DOES READSPEAKER TEXTAID READ THE TEXT THAT IS ON IMAGES?

Yes. Use the Snapshot tool on the TextAid extension and draw a box around the
text. The text will be OCRed (Optical Character Recognition) and read out loud.
