As Vice President of Mortgage Lending at Guaranteed Rate, Steven Maizes brings
years of real estate experience and expertise to all his transactions. Steven
was an All American basketball player at Wesleyan University and then graduated
with honors from Yale Law School. Before joining Guaranteed Rate, Steve was a
practicing real estate attorney for twenty-five years. He’s been featured on the
CBS Evening News, in the L.A. Times, Washington Post, and continues to be a
Guest Real Estate Lecturer at the USC School of Law. Steven and his team of
mortgage professionals make the loan process as easy as possible for clients by
employing the latest technology. Meticulous and proactive throughout the
process, they carefully shepherd each project to its conclusion. If anything
needs urgent attention, it’s dealt with immediately. Indeed, Steven’s favorite
quote is, “Give good news faster, give bad news faster,” which actually comes
from a very practical point of view; the faster facts are known, the quicker a
resolution can be devised. This attitude has made him a leading mortgage banker
of choice for many top realtors, CPAs and senior executives for the past 15
years. All one needs to know is that the vast majority of Steven’s business
comes primarily from personal referrals and repeat business. His greatest
accomplishment, however, is being the father of three beautiful, respectful
children with whom he enjoys spending time.

certain circumstances, a 30-day rate lock may not be available. When you apply,
you can choose to lock or float your interest rate range.

Mortgage rates and loan options displayed depend on a number of variables,

verification, credit and property approval.

These mortgage rates are based upon a variety of assumptions and conditions,
which include a consumer credit score that may be higher or lower than your
individual credit score.

VA

If you meet the eligibility requirements of the VA program, gifts or grants may
be used for down payments. Up to 100% financing may be available for qualified
borrowers. Most VA loans require the borrower to pay a 'funding fee'. This fee
may be paid out of pocket or financed into the loan amount. At the direction of
the United States Congress and the Department of Veterans Affairs VA Funding

Adjustable Rate Mortgage (ARMs)

index. Any change may significantly impact your monthly payment. Since the index
in the future is unknown, the First Adjusted Rate and Payments displayed are
based on the current index plus the margin (fully indexed rate) at time of
scenario/disclosure. Before choosing an ARM, you should decide if you can manage
the maximum estimated payment if the rate increases. To fully understand minimum
