FUN FOLD FRIDAY WITH BEE MY VALENTINE



Hello stampers,

I really enjoy making fun fold cards, I think they just add an extra touch. So
I'm going to work on doing at least 2 fun fold cards a month, beginning today
which I'll dub Fun Fold Friday. LOL! For today's card I happened to come across
another demo that made it & happened to link she found it & who had a video for
it at Mixed Up Craft. Now I tried to be smart about it & make it fit into one of
our envelopes, boy did I fail. UGH! But that's ok because it's a learning
experience but I did like how it turned out in the end.

So the original maker's card ended up being 6x6, and mine ended up being 5.5x5.5
(this is why I shouldn't try something new really late at night.) I used Sweet
Sorbet Cardstock & Bee Mine DSP for the base & layers of the card. For the bees,
I used the Bee My Valentine Bundle stamping on Basic White Cardstock with
Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink & Memento Black Inks. For the sentiment, I used one
from the set and then punched it out using the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch.






I think if I were to try this card again, at the very least I would cut down the
2 flaps that the top sits on just a bit. This card would definitely have to be
put in a larger envelope due to when you fold it up the base is really thick.
Even though I didn't get it down to the regular card side, I can say I did have
fun making it & I really do think it is a cool looking card.

BOTANICAL LAYERS - THINKING OF YOU



Hello stampers,

I had a bit of fun playing with a set that is in the Annual Catalog, but is
currently a FREE item for Sale-A-Bration.

I don't really gravitate to purples, but I decided to try my hand at using 3 of
them in this card. I started with a Basic White Cardstock layer then stamped the
floral looking stamp in the Botanical Layers Stamp Set using the thumping
technique which is coloring the stamp with a light color then thumping other
colors using Stampin' Write Markers on top. For this technique, I used Highland
Heather & Old Olive as the base then thumped Gorgeous Grape & Blackberry Bliss
on top before gluing it to a Blackberry Bliss Cardstock layer. I really like
using this technique on trees for a "fall" look. I also used a sentiment from
the set using Gorgeous Grape Ink on Basic White Cardstock which I punched out
with a retired 1 1/4" Circle Punch & then adhered it to a Blackberry Bliss
Cardstock that I punched out with a retired 1 3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch. Next,
I took a layer of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock & embossed it using the Softly
Sophisticated 3D Embossing Folder which is part of a Sale-A-Bration bundle that
is FREE with a $100 order. To assemble, I used Highland HeatherCardstock for the
base, followed by the embossed layer down the center, the stamped image &
sentiment were then added using Stampin' Dimensionals. Lastly, I added a few
Purple Shimmer Gems to finish off the card.

BEE MY VALENTINE- YOU'RE AS SWEET AS HONEY



Hello stampers,

Today's card is for a sketch challenge from the Paper Craft Crew #556 using the
Bee My Valentine Bundle. These bees are just too cute, I hope they make it into
the new catalog. 

I started with a layer of Petal Pink Cardstock, then used the Bee Mine DSP to
die-cut a banner from the retired Banners Dies & then a strip from another
piece. For the bees, I stamped them Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink & Memento Black
Inks on Basic White Cardstock before punching them out using the Bee Builder
Punch & popping them up using Stampin' Dimensionals. I also used Basic White
Cardstock with Memento Black Ink for the sentiment then banner cut the ends
using the Banners Pick A Punch. Lastly, I added a few Solid Faceted Gems (Petal
Pink) to finish the card.

EVERYDAY DETAILS - CONGRATULATIONS



Hello stampers,

Today's card was made for the Freshly Made Sketches #622 sketch challenge using
the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards & Envelopes which is FREE during
Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order.

I started my card with a layer of Basic White Cardstock that I stamped with the
floral arrangement from the Everyday Details Stamp Set using Memento Black Ink,
then colored it in using Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight & Pretty
Peacock Stampin' Blends Combo Packs. Next, I took a die from the Scalloped
Contour Dies to die-cut a small piece of Pretty Peacock Cardstock before gluing
it to the back of the stamped image, which was then glued to the Sweet Thoughts
Memories & More Card (Calypso Coral.) For the sentiment, I used the Wonderful
Thoughts Bundle with Basic White Cardstock & Pretty Peacock Ink then popped it
up with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I don't usually look at the Memories & More
stuff, but they make it easy if you're short on time to make a card.
