9 BEST BEAUTY BLOGS TO INSPIRE YOU (TOP BEAUTY BLOGGERS)

1. LISA ELDRIDGE

Lisa Eldridge’s blog and her videos focus on different makeup looks plus beauty
advice, with tips on choosing the right foundation, lipsticks, and much more.
She sells a wide range of cosmetic products from her website as well as
monetizing through affiliate links to other beauty products. Her separate
website, Lisa Eldridge Jewels, sells rings, earrings, and lipstick charm
necklaces.

2. RUTH CRILLY (A MODEL RECOMMENDS)

Ruth Crilly, a former full-time model, shares lots of tips and ideas about
beauty, makeup, and fashion on her blog—which used to be called “A Model
Recommends.” Her posts are full of personal anecdotes and written in a chatty,
breezy style. She uses affiliate links to monetize the blog and also rents out a
renovated holiday cottage, which she links to from her About page.

3. THE BEAUTY LOOK BOOK

The Beauty Look Book is packed with detailed posts reviewing makeup, fragrances,
and more. Blogger Sabrina posts lots of photos (including plenty of swatches) of
the products she’s reviewing, monetizing her content through affiliate links. As
well as the product reviews, her blog also includes some lifestyle and travel
content.

4. REALLY REE

Really Ree is a beauty and style blog covering makeup, skin, fragrance, and
hair. Like other beauty bloggers, Ree monetizes through affiliate links and uses
video content and Instagram heavily to build her following. She also runs a
“Skin, makeup & general beauty chat” Facebook group.

5. BRITISH BEAUTY BLOGGER (HER SITE RIGHT HERE)

As you might expect, the owner of British Beauty Blogger, Jane Cunningham, lives
in the UK. Her beauty tips range across cosmetics, skincare, nails, hair, and
more. As well as using affiliate links, she makes money through sponsored posts,
and (like pretty much all beauty bloggers) receives free samples.

6. BEAUTY IS BORING

Beauty is Boring is an unconventional beauty blog by makeup artist and
photographer Robin Black. Her homepage is an archive of faces, each linking to a
post that details the model and makeup, with links to buy the products used.
Robin’s creativity is fully on show, both through the blog and her videos and
Instagram account.

7. KATIE JANE HUGHES

Katie Jane Hughes is another makeup artist, working with a wide range of
celebrities, photographers, brands, and publications. Her website is primarily a
way to showcase her portfolio. She has a very popular YouTube account where she
shares makeup tutorials, product recommendations, and more.

8. PATRICIA BRIGHT

Patricia Bright—a YouTuber and Instagram influencer—covers lifestyle topics on
her blog as well as sharing her favorite product recommendations. She’s
partnered up with a number of brands in the past, including Loreal, Forbes, and
BMW. Her YouTube channel covers beauty, clothing, hairstyles, and inspirational
content.

9. AMBER FILLERUP CLARK

Blogging about lifestyle, hair, fashion, beauty, and travel, Amber Fillerup
Clark has lots of practical content along with more personal family posts. She
monetizes through affiliate links as well as selling products through her brands
Dae (hair care products like shampoo, conditioner, and styling cream) and BFB
Hair (hair extensions).

HOW TO START A BEAUTY BLOG OF YOUR OWN (6 EASY STEPS)

Feeling inspired to give beauty blogging a try? Here’s how to start your own
beauty blog—in six simple steps.

STEP 1: CHOOSE YOUR BEAUTY NICHE AND YOUR BEAUTY BLOG’S NAME

To help distinguish your beauty blog from all the other beauty blogs out there,
you need to get clear about your blogging niche.

You’ll want to think about differentiating your beauty blog in this competitive,
yet profitable blog niche:

 * What topics will you cover? Some beauty bloggers only cover makeup and
skincare; others cover DIY hair tutorials; some include travel and lifestyle
content, and others have articles on wellness or self-care.
 * What audience are you writing for? Think about their age, income level, and
   experience (or not) with beauty.
 * Is there a particular style or aesthetic that you want to blog about? Whether
it’s punk, e-girl, K-pop, goth, glam, academia, streetwear, or something else
entirely, you might have a particular style/fashion subculture that you’re
drawn to. You may also want to consider starting a fashion blog.

Once you’ve figured out your niche, it’s time to pick your blog’s name. Many
beauty bloggers use their own name—especially if they’re also planning to
establish themselves as influencers on social media. If you don’t want to use
your own name, you might think of ways to incorporate “Beauty” into your blog’s
name, as several of the bloggers above do.

You’ll need to check that your chosen name is available as a domain
name (website address). Most beauty bloggers use a .com domain suffix, though
you could also choose a regional suffix if that makes sense—such as .co.uk if
you’re in the UK.

Use my free domain name generator tool to come up with dozens of clever,
available names.

STEP 2: PICK A WEB HOST TO GET YOUR BEAUTY BLOG ONLINE

All websites need a web hosting company. Your host gives your blog a space on
the internet, so people can visit it at any time, from anywhere in the world.

There are lots of great web hosts to choose from, but the ones I recommend the
most are Bluehost and Dreamhost. Both of these are excellent beginner-friendly
hosts that have great value deals for your first year of blogging. They also
make it really easy to run WordPress, which is the blogging platform that I
advise using for your beauty blog.

Both Bluehost and Dreamhost will give you a free domain name (if you sign up for
a year or more of hosting), so it makes sense to register your domain name with
them too.

My step-by-step guide to starting a blog will walk you through this process
super quickly.

STEP 3: MAKE YOUR BEAUTY BLOG GORGEOUS WITH FREE TOOLS

All bloggers want to make a great first impression by having a stunning-looking
blog … and this is particularly crucial for beauty bloggers. You want your blog
to be just as gorgeous as your makeup tutorials and fashion picks.

The great news is that if you’re using WordPress to create your blog, it’s
really easy to customize your site using free tools.

You’ll want to use:

 * A WordPress theme (site template) that makes your site look amazing… and
that’s easy for you to customize. There are so many amazing WordPress themes
to choose from, many of which are free. You can also pay for a premium theme,
or upgrade to the premium version of a free theme, to get extra features.
 * WordPress plugins that add extra features to your beauty blog. For instance,
you might want to add a contact form so that brands and sponsors can easily
get in touch with you. There are also plugins to manage affiliate links,
create gorgeous image galleries, and much more. Many WordPress plugins are
completely free—including WooCommerce, a popular plugin that lets you create
an online store (e.g. to sell your own skincare products). You can also pay
for premium plugins to extend your website’s functionality even further.

STEP 4: GET ON INSTAGRAM (WITH YOUR BEST PHOTOS)

Using social media is a great way to grow any blog … and if you have a beauty
blog, you really do need to be on Instagram specifically. Many beauty
influencers use their Instagram account a lot more than their blog: it’s a great
place to be visible and to share your best photos.

Having a big following on Instagram can lead to sponsorship deals and brand
partnerships, as well as helping you grow a platform that could allow you to
create and sell your own beauty products.

If you’ve not used Instagram before, great first steps are to:

 * Sign up for your Instagram account, making sure you upload a great photo of
   yourself—and fill out your bio.
 * Follow friends on Instagram: they might just become your first fans!
 * Find other beauty influencers and bloggers to follow: comment supportively on
their photos and you may well start to get noticed.

STEP 5: TRY THESE IDEAS FOR YOUR FIRST BEAUTY BLOG POSTS

Not sure what to write about on your beauty blog? Crafting your first few blog
posts can be tricky, so here are some ready-made beauty and lifestyle ideas to
get you started:

 * Create a video tutorial showcasing your favorite makeup technique.
 * Write about the best products in a particular category (e.g. favorite
lipsticks, mascaras, nail polish, moisturizer, concealer, eye shadow…)
 * Share a funny or more personal story, e.g. about a style mishap or about a
trend you tried in your teens which really didn’t suit you.
 * Give readers a sneak peek at your daily beauty routine: what’s essential and
what do you skip when you’re in a rush?
 * Share problem-solving tips for specific beauty or skincare issues, e.g.
   hydrating products for dry skin.
 * Tell readers about your best makeup hacks or shortcuts.
 * Let everyone know about your amazing drugstore buys that perform as well as
   high-end products.
 * Write a round-up of advice from beauty experts or key influencers in the
   beauty industry.
 * Give your take on some recent beauty news, whether that’s new products from
specific retailers, different trends, or even a celebrity’s skincare routine.
 * Review a new makeup product from a big brand like Sephora or Estée Lauder.
 * Interview someone in the beauty industry, like a hairstylist or a creative
director. (If you can’t land an interview with them, you could round up some
of their best quotes from other interviews.)

STEP 6: PROMOTE YOUR BEAUTY BLOG AND OPTIMIZE YOUR POSTS FOR SEO

However gorgeous your beauty blog is and however interesting your posts are,
you’ll still need to put in some work to promote your content.

Sharing your blog posts on social media (and encouraging your followers to share
them too) is a great start. But you’ll also need to think about SEO—search
engine optimization. This means making sure that your posts are easy for people
to find through Google and other search engines.

You don’t need to become an SEO expert in order for your blog to rank well in
Google. But you do need to follow some key best practices. To start with:

 * Focus at least some of your posts around keywords that your audience is
likely to type into Google. For instance, “best red lipsticks” is a keyword.
“Does dry shampoo work?” is a keyword. My free keyword research tool will
help you come up with ideas.
 * Use your keyword in your post’s title and, ideally, in some subheadings in
the post. This helps Google (and readers!) know that your post matches up
   with what they’re looking for.

My in-depth post on blog SEO strategies will help you go further.

Another important way to promote your blog is through email marketing. Getting
new visitors onto your email list means you can easily stay in touch with them
and let them know about new posts—so make sure you (a) have an email list and
that (b) it’s really easy to sign up.

At this stage, start planning which ways you’ll want to monetize your beauty
blog, whether through coaching, affiliate programs with brands like MAC, or
something else entirely—it’s never too early to consider the ways you can
eventually turn a profit from your hobby.

NEXT STEPS: GET YOUR BEAUTY BLOG STARTED TODAY

A beauty blog can be a fun and fulfilling way to share your love of skincare,
makeup, fashion, and all things beauty-related. It could also be a great
money-maker—especially if you can build an influential presence on Instagram
too. And even if your blog doesn’t bring in a fortune, it could still bring you
a steady supply of gorgeous beauty products to review and feature.

Thanks for sharing this list of the 9 Best Beauty Blogs (Real Examples).
It’s always helpful to discover real-life examples of successful beauty
bloggers. I’m particularly interested in their insights regarding facial
kits, as they can provide valuable recommendations and reviews. This list
is a great resource for those of us looking to explore the world of beauty
and skincare with a blog. Keep up the good work!

However, it’s important to note that while Instagram can be a powerful tool
for promoting your beauty blog, it should complement your blog rather than
replace it entirely. Your blog provides a space for more in-depth content,
detailed product reviews, and longer-form articles. The key is to use
Instagram strategically as part of your overall content marketing strategy
to attract, engage, and retain your audience while driving traffic to your
     blog.

As a small business owner, I found the tips on collaborating with beauty
bloggers extremely useful. The idea of influencer partnerships seems like a
fantastic way to reach a wider audience. I’ll definitely consider reaching
out to some local beauty bloggers for potential collaborations. Thanks for
     the practical advice!
