This transformation requires energy and will require it even more in the next decades. DESPITE AFRICA’S GREAT CLEAN ENERGY POTENTIAL, ONLY A TINY FRACTION OF THE WORLD’S RENEWABLES IS INSTALLED HERE. The African continent simply cannot afford any more investment in the dirty and fragile economy of the past, the same economy that brought our climate on the verge of collapse and left our societies so vulnerable. Today, we’re at a turning point. The recovery plans are the once-in-history push to radically change direction and clean energy is the only way to go to bring Africa straight into the sustainable era, to make its economy more resilient and to finally build back a better future. We envision the sustainable transformation of Africa’s electricity systems to ensure reliable and affordable electricity access for all. Our mission is to work towards creating favourable conditions for scaling up investments in clean energy technologies in Africa, with Africa, for Africa. * Africa * Central & South America * Europe * India * China * North America * Africa * Central & South America * Europe * India * China * North America Share of Africa's on world additional R.E. capacity accounts for only 2% while population accounts for a 16% Source: International Renewable Energy Agency, IRENA SETTING PRIORITIES FOR AFRICA’S SUSTAINABLE ENERGY TRANSITION The 24th of May 2022 was a historical day for RES4Africa.
