The Oklahoma Insurance Department will provide competent and trustworthy
employees who will protect Oklahoma consumers by providing timely assistance and
information and efficiently regulate the insurance industry’s market behavior
and financial solvency while fostering a competitive insurance marketplace.


MEET OID


LOIS SPINN

ISO Coordinator

As the ISO Coordinator, Lois serves as a primary facilitator across all of
Oklahoma with fire departments, 911 providers, insurance agents citizens
concerning their Fire Protection Area and Public Protection Classification. Lois
provides education, information and expert perspective of National Fire
Protection Codes associated with Fire Protection Area ratings. During her tenure
at the OID, Lois has assisted hundreds of fire departments with achieving
improved ISO classifications resulting in lower premiums for homeowners and
commercial property owners.

Prior to joining the OID in 2018 Lois worked as a Field Representative in the
field of community risk reduction for Verisk/ISO evaluating Fire Protection
Areas in Oklahoma after returning to the State from federal service as a
contractor-facilitator. Lois received her Bachelor of Science degree from
Tarleton State University of Texas in Industrial Occupations.

OID's PBM Compliance and Enforcement Director Kelli Price attended the
2022 Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society (IRES) Career Development Seminar in
Englewood, Colorado this week. Along with Sean Betta and Jo-Anne
Arrowood from Risk & Regulatory Consulting LLC, Kelli spoke at the two sessions
on the Evolving World of PBM Regulation - the Past, Present & Future Part I: The
Road to Creating Uniform PBM Standards and Part II: PBM Case Law, Enforcement &
Pitfalls.

Behind the scenes: Some OID teammates joined Commissioner Mulready today for our
latest PSA shoot in our Oklahoma City office. Thank you to everyone who came out
to help with filming!

The 2022 Oklahoma Captive & Insurance Business Transfer Conference was a
tremendous success. - Nearly 300 people attended from across the United States.
- More than 40% of attendees traveled to Oklahoma from out of state. - 27 IBT
and Captive expert speakers led informative sessions covering hot topics in the
industry. - Regulators from 14 different states were in attendance. We are
already counting down until next year’s Conference. Thank you to all who
attended!

OID's Continuing Education Manager Lindsay Piatt is attending the Oklahoma Claim
Association Fall Conference today in Midwest City. Over 100 claims professionals
attended to learn about topics such as hail claims, hazards on the job, ethics,
marijuana testing for driving impairment, reducing electronic claims costs and
medical specials in case evaluation.

Our team is attending the 2022 Insurance Summit in Kansas City this week. Thank
you to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and the National
Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) for hosting this great event and bringing
together innovators and regulators to explore the future of insurance
regulation.
