Aadil is the protégée of grand-master B.K.S. Iyengar, whose teachings form the foundation of most yoga taught today. Aadil's entire family studied yoga with Iyengar, and Aadil started at the age of 7. Practicing regularly for over 8 hours a day, Aadil was the youngest person to be awarded the Advanced Yoga Teacher’s Certificate from Iyengar at the age of 22. He has been training yoga teachers in India, Asia, Europe, and the United States since 1976. For nearly forty years, Aadil has been regarded as the “teacher of teachers,” and many of the world’s top yoga instructors have studied with him. He has a unique teaching style, mixing melodious instructions with recitations of poetry, philosophical insights, and in-the-moment humor. He is currently teaches workshops, trainings and more at Alive & Shine, the company he co-founded with Savitri, the creator of Heartfull Meditation. He is an editor for Yoga Journal and numerous other Yoga and Holistic Wellness publications. He is also one of the foundering members of Yoga Alliance, at the time it was called Unity in Yoga. Below is a short video of Aadil Palkhivala attending a class taught by BKS Iyengar in 1968. It shows Aadil as a young boy and his father (directly in front of BKS Iyengar) taking a yoga-asana class. This video shows the dedication Aadil Palkhivala has had to asana since he was in his youth, his family’s connection to Iyengar and the lineage Aadil comes from. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LEARN MORE ABOUT AADIL -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BUY HIS BOOKS LEARN WITH AADIL PALKHIVALA MUMBAI 1968 BKS IYENGAR & AADIL YOGA JOURNAL & OTHER PRESSCREDENTIALS UPCOMING EVENTSVISIT OUR CALANDER TEACHER OF TEACHERSWHO IS AADIL?
