In its 15th year, the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) is the national LGBTQ+
benchmarking tool that evaluates healthcare facilities' policies and practices
related to the equity and inclusion of their LGBTQ+ patients, visitors and
employees. The HEI 2022 evaluates more than 2,200 healthcare facilities
nationwide.

A record 906 healthcare facilities actively participated in the HEI 2022 survey.

496 Leaders

In the HEI 2022, 496 healthcare facilities acheived the coveted top score of 100
and earned the coveted "LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader" designation.

251 Top Performers

Another 251 facilities scored 80-95 points in the HEI 2020 and earned the
designation of "LGBTQ+Healthcare Equality Top Performer."

82% of participating facilities earned a score of 80 or higher
