ABOUT ASHER WOLFSTEIN

Hello, I’m Asher Wolfstein, and this is my personal blog. Here is some info
about me: I am a mostly-gay married male in his forties living in Fort Collins,
Colorado (USA), who happens to be an anthropomorphic wunk from the future. A
wunk is a hybrid between a wolf and a skunk, and an anthropomorph is something
that takes on human characteristics. As for the future, let’s say a little
accidental time travel has left me with a very forward-looking perspective.

In my adult travels over the last two decades, I’ve learned that the most
important thing you can do is to be true to yourself. That’s what I strive for
in everything I do. Anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues do not
always make it easy, but I don’t give up! Every day is an opportunity to do what
I need to do.

I tend to define myself as a philosophical and entrepreneurial artist-programmer
interested in game development, language, technology, and culture. I peruse
technical textbooks, manga (漫画) / anime, science fiction, cookbooks,
role-playing games, self-help, and anything unique or obscure. I play, write,
design, and program computer games and study Japanese (日本語). Sometimes I put on
elaborate costumes that afford me a more furry animal look for fun (and
occasionally business). Overall, I subscribe to and act out a unique
individualism where I never quite belong to any one group.

I hope this blog gives you some glimpse(s) into my inner world and encourages
you to join me in my quests for actualization, be it my projects, musings, or
mental health journey.

We've entered a brave new world folks. Cultural norms are changing, particularly
online, and people are more emboldened than ever to spout whatever bizarre thing
they think because they think there won't be any consequences. Unfortunately for
them, echo chambers are entirely virtual, and reality has an annoying way of
getting in the way. Today's subject is Pegasus Intellectual Capital Solutions, a
"boutique investment firm" headed up by Charles Smith as the "Managing Partner."
I get the impression that this used to be a reputable company that did reputable
business for a while, and then something strange happened. It got infected with
the conservative mind-virus going around. Just look at its business Twitter
account.

So one day, I was watching The Golden Girls. Since then, I've watched The Golden
Girls many many many (channeling Blanche Deveroux here) times. I was looking at
the subtitles of the episodes (on the DVD) and realized that those subtitles
weren't entirely accurate. I've seen the subtitles throughout the series, and I
noticed that some of the jokes and other things were actually truncated in the
subtitles. So, I started writing down the episode myself in a notebook. I
transcribed the first three episodes in a notebook by hand. That took a while!

sometime around 2005 or 2006. This chronicled the time that TCX (what The
Clasheerian Order eventually turned into) went to Nan Desu Kan (NDK) in Denver
in 2003. I was fresh out of high school and so were many of my friends (featured
