Nov 1 2023 High School Art and Biology Students Get Inspired by Local Artist and Musician, Jayson Fann High school art and biology students had the opportunity to collaborate with local artist and educator, Jayson Fann, on an art installment that will be gifted to the Gathering for Women Center in Monterey. Nov 1 2023 A Pandemic Solution Becomes New Tradition for Lower School Students Chartwell’s science camps have been a legacy experience for every grade 5 or 6 student for over a decade. The pandemic, however, forced the school to rethink the experience and develop innovative ways to keep the spirit of the trip alive, while respecting critical safety guidelines. Dec 6 2023 Bridging the Gap: Mr. Rowe Makes Physics Engaging and Accessible for High School Students Physics can be a daunting course in high school - and so much depends upon how it is introduced to a student and if it is made accessible. Teacher Garrett Rowe is doing just that by making physics interesting, exciting, engaging and fun. Dec 5 2023 Middle School Students Get Outside their Comfort Zones for 2 Days of Learning and Growth Last month, the entire middle division of students spent two nights at The Camp in Carmel Valley to enjoy the outdoors, connect with their teachers in a new environment, and get to know each other better. Dec 5 2023 A Unique Addition to Campus has Proven Successful for Student Wellness Chartwell unveils a new skateboarding ramp on campus and students are overjoyed at the new addition. Dec 5 2023 High School Basketball Teams Launch into the New Season with Teamwork and School Spirit Congratulations to the Silver and Green Basketball teams for finishing their first game of the season! Dec 5 2023 Chartwell Embraces Día De Los Muertos with a Heartfelt Community Celebration This November, the dynamic teacher trio of Sonya Navarro, Miriam Romero, and Nena Prakash hosted a vibrant celebration of Día De Los Muertos on the Chartwell campus. Nov 1 2023 Harvard, Duke, Notre Dame, Purdue, Stanford…and Chartwell! Dr. Pablo "Popi" Borboroglu Visits Chartwell and Inspires Our Young Learners Last month, Dr. Pablo "Popi" Borboroglu, the founder of the Global Penguin Society and 2023 Indianapolis Prize Winner, visited Chartwell and spoke with our lower school students about the 18 different penguin species concentrated in the Southern Hemisphere, 55% of which are listed as threatened.
