Business Strategy Sprint 2024-02 Syllabus Made with BUSINESS STRATEGY SPRINT 2024-02 SYLLABUS February 12-19, 2024 Instructor: Scott Galloway Teaching Assistant: Jen Nussinow Tasker COURSE OVERVIEW The Section Business Strategy Sprint is a one-week intensive course from Professor Scott Galloway. In this course, you’ll learn the strategies that drive value at today’s most valuable firms and how to apply these strategies to your business. We call these strategies the T-Algorithm, the strategies that define category and market winners. COURSE OBJECTIVES By the end of this sprint, you'll be able to: Tell practical stories about the strategies highly-valued firms execute exceptionally well. Anticipate a strategy’s impact on user and revenue growth as well as margins. Make actionable strategic recommendations for where to allocate your firm’s time and capital. Create your profile, familiarize yourself with the channels, and respond to your TA’s first prompt 5 minutes 0 Friday, February 9 Watch the welcome video from your professor in the Sprint Center! 5 minutes 1 Monday, February 12 Watch Module 1 20 minutes 1 Tuesday, February 13 Watch Module 2 30 minutes 1 Wednesday, February 14 Guided Project Work Session Join this live session with your TA to learn best practices for your project and get 80% of the way through the work Time: 9 AM or 6 PM US ET 60 minutes 1 Thursday, February 15 Join the live session with Professor Galloway Time: 12PM-1PM US Eastern Time 60 minutes 2 Monday, February 12 Projects Due @11:59PM ET Count7 COURSE MATERIALS Note: You’ll receive access to the below the week before the sprint Slack: Discuss sprint content, meet your cohort/section, and work through your project. You will receive an email invitation to sign up for Slack. (Access on Thursday 2/8) Sprint Center: This is your home base for all content including modules, lessons, case studies, livestream links/recordings, and project instructions. (Access on Friday 2/9) COURSE PARTICIPATION This is an intensive course, designed for you to engage actively with course material and put your learnings into action. Students who get the most out of this sprint are those who engage and participate with the community. This includes: Discussing sprint learnings and takeaways, and replying to other students via Slack in your #section channel. Completing the project, so you can put your learnings into action. Joining Scott’s livestream class on Thursday, February 15 @ 11 PM US ET (this is recorded, so don’t worry if you can’t join live). PROJECT The project is designed to help you evaluate any company for strategic opportunities to apply T-Algorithm strategies. This is an opportunity for you to put what you’ve learned into action. Students who get the most out of the sprint are those who not only watch the lessons/case studies and participate on Slack, but also select a company to evaluate for the project early into the sprint. COURSE COMPLETION We provide certificates of completion and LinkedIn badges to students who complete this course — this includes watching all sprint videos and turning in a project. You’ll receive your credentials at the end of the sprint. The next week will fly by, so remember, you’ll only get what you put into it.
