Omaha, Neb., (March 1, 2024) – CLAAS of America earned two of the three annual
Davidson Prize honors which recognizes the best-of-the best in ag innovation for
its CEMOS tractor driving optimization system and its new DISCO 97000 Auto
Swather.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and the American Society of
Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) presented the seventh-annual
Davidson Prize to the top three innovative products, selected from the AE50
honorees on March 1, 2024 during Commodity Classic in Houston. The Davidson
Prize is designed to celebrate innovations in areas of agricultural, food and
biological systems engineering.
“The Davidson Prize caps off a phenomenal year in equipment manufacturing and
technological advancements for CLAAS,” said Eric Raby, senior vice president of
CLAAS Americas. “From Tractor of the Year at Agritechnica and seven AE50 Awards
at the end of 2023, our talented engineers continue to push the industry forward
with best-in-class designs and breakthrough system operations. The Davidson
Prize represents a bumper crop for our team.”
CEMOS FOR TRACTORS
CEMOS is the first and only self-learning driver assistance and process
optimization system on the market that optimizes both the tractor and its
attachments. It helps the operator optimize ballasting, tire pressure and
engine-transmission management, significantly improving productivity and
efficiency in field work such as tillage.
CEMOS for tractors is the only self-learning driver assistance and process
optimization system on the market and is available in North America for the
ARION 600, AXION 800, AXION 900 and XERION 12 Series models.
DISCO 9700 RC AUTO SWATHER
The DISCO 9700 RC AUTO SWATHER is one of the most productive triple mowers with
conditioner and merger belts designed specifically for large forage volumes and
heavy crops. Special features such as the new side shifting technology,
innovative drive line, and the intelligent merger belt design with 1,100 mm wide
merger belts make it unique on the market.
The DISCO 9700 RC AUTO SWATHER can handle yield levels of up to 60 t/ha thanks
to its robust double roller drive and efficient swath merging.

this year's winners of the AE50 Award from the American Society of Agricultural
and Biological Engineering (ASABE). The award ceremony will take place in
February 2024 at the ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference in
Louisville, Kentucky.

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ASABE) has
honored seven CLAAS product innovations with the AE50 Award. “We are very proud
to have been recognized by ASABE for several of our new products and
technologies, including the XERION 12 series and the TRION 740,” explains Eric
Raby, Senior Vice President Region Americas and Vice President CoA. “Our
engineers are constantly working to make farmers’ work even more productive,
efficient, easy and sustainable. We want to enable them to be the best in their
fields, and the seven award-winning CLAAS product innovations from the areas of
tractors, combine harvesters, balers and forage harvesting represent exactly
this goal.
The AE50 Awards, presented by the American Society of Agricultural and
Biological Engineers (ASABE), annually recognize the 50 most innovative new
products and product innovations in North America that have significant impact
on agricultural, food and biological systems. Of the numerous submissions in
2023, seven CLAAS submissions were recognized among the top 50 for their
innovation, significant technical advances and market impact.
These are this year's seven CLAAS winners: the AE50:
XERION 12 SERIES
With the XERION, CLAAS has been one of the global technological drivers in the
large tractor industry for 25 years. After six years of design and development
work, more than 10,000 hours of testing in five countries and hundreds of
customer interviews, the XERION 12 series is leading the way with even more
innovations. Introduced in summer 2023, the innovative series features a low
engine speed concept “2.0” with two models producing up to 653 hp with maximum
torque of up to 2,286 Ib-ft at 1,300 rpm. Unique to this tractor class is the
CMATIC continuously variable transmission with a maximum speed of up to 31 mph
(TERRA TRAC: up to 25 mph), and a massive hydraulic capacity of up to 142 gpm.
The solid-frame tractor is offered on a new shock-absorbed TERRA TRAC
undercarriage or 800/70 R42 duals to transfer power to the ground with minimal
compaction and slip. The machine was also designed for unrivaled all-round
visibility from a four-point suspended cab – one of the most spacious in the
premium tractor segment – and with 21% more leg room than previous models. An
intuitive CLAAS-exclusive CEMOS system (also a 2024 AE50 winner) analyzes and
suggests optimal settings for specific implements and field conditions,
improving overall efficiency.
CEMOS FOR TRACTORS
CEMOS is the first and only self-learning driver assistance and process
optimization system on the market that optimizes both the tractor and its
attachments. It helps the operator optimize ballasting, tire pressure and
engine-transmission management, significantly improving productivity and
efficiency in field work such as tillage. In addition, attachment settings can
be optimized step by step and the risk of damaging compaction in the soil can be
evaluated and visualized thanks to the integrated Terranimo® calculation model.
In DLG test report 7096, area performance was increased by up to 16.3 percent
and fuel consumption was reduced by up to 16.8 percent. Inexperienced drivers
can achieve optimal tractive power transmission, efficiency and work quality
with this technology - however, CEMOS demonstrably improves these target areas
even for experienced drivers.
TRION 740
Introduced in 2021, the TRION 740 represents the first CLAAS combine built for
the North American market since the launch of the ever-popular LEXION combine in
1995. The company’s latest model transfers many of the high-capacity
functionalities, efficiencies and performance parameters of the LEXION series to
a mid-sized model (class-7) that better fits the performance needs and budget of
a more traditional family farm. In North America, the TRION 740 with its APS
HYBRID system and single large rotor, complements the extensive twin-rotor
LEXION product range.
Whereas the LEXION line is known as a “maximizer” the TRION 740 works as an
“optimizer.” It offers impressive capacity when compared to other claas-7
competitors and available with much of the technology and efficiency generally
reserved for larger combines such as its CEMOS AUTOMATIC combine automation
system, hydraulic rotor covers, 3D cleaning system, TELEMATICS, and an open
steering system. The company’s latest combine design re-energizes this segment
by delivering CLAAS innovation in an unparalleled crop flow design on an
affordable and reliable chassis.
VARIANT NET WRAP SYSTEM
Exactly 40 years ago, CLAAS invented the net wrapping technology for round
balers. Thanks to this experience and its simplicity, the net wrap system used
in VARIANT balers is extremely sophisticated and reliable. To prevent dirt from
accumulating, the net cover is on a roll. The net wrap brake is as reliable as
it is simple and works independently of the size of roll. Rubber rollers under
the net film roll allow for adjustable pre-stretching from the comfort of the
cab. High-quality net wrap from CLAAS ensures that bales stay in perfect shape,
with or without edge covers.
VARIANT 500 SMART DENSITY
VARIANT round balers ensure high bale density in all crops, from wet harvested
silage to dry straw. At the same time, they are able to produce hay bales with a
soft core for safe drying. SMART DENSITY controls the two tensioning arms
independently of each other. This means that the VARIANT always has the optimal
belt tension in all crop conditions and at all driving speeds. While the exact
density as well as the size of the soft core can be adjusted, the outer shell of
the bale is always firm and maintains an optimal shape. These properties lead to
optimal nutrient preservation, less feed loss, lower risk of spontaneous
combustion and better feed conversion.
DOUBLE ROLLER DRIVE FOR DISCO 3600 FRC
The double roller drive of the CLAAS DISCO 3600 FRC front mower is a new,
innovative drive concept for the roller conditioner (RC), which was specially
developed for high-yield and heavy crops. The technical highlight is the solidly
designed scissor gear that runs in an oil bath for maximum reliability and the
highest crop throughput. The pivoting design enables the highest throughput and
optimizes feed processing. A scale on the side of the mower shows the operator
the actual size of the roller gap. The spring tension of the rollers can be
adjusted independently of the roller gap.
DISCO 9700 RC AUTO SWATHER
The DISCO 9700 RC AUTO SWATHER is one of the most productive triple mowers with
conditioner and merger belts designed specifically for large forage volumes and
heavy crops. Special features such as the new side shifting technology,
innovative drive line, and the intelligent merger belt design with 1,100 mm wide
merger belts make it unique on the market. The DISCO 9700 RC AUTO SWATHER can
easily handle yields of up to 24 t/acre (60 t/ha). While the machine is rugged
enough to tackle high-tonnage cereal crops like rye or triticale, its gentle
crop flows makes it ideal for delicate legumes such as alfalfa as well. ACTIVE
FLOAT pressure control and non-stop collision protection are part of the
standard equipment. The centrally positioned swing arms deliver an infinitely
adjustable working width from 29’ 2” - 31’ 2” (8.80 to 9.50 m).

international scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing
engineering for agricultural, food and biological systems. Entries for the AE50
Awards are submitted from around the world and reviewed by a panel of
international experts to determine the 50 most innovative and influential
products. Increasing efficiency and productivity are taken into account in the
decision, as is improving user safety. The award winners will be presented at
the ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference from February 11th to
14th in Louisville, Kentucky (USA).

SUCCESSFUL FISCAL YEAR 2023 – CAUTIOUS OUTLOOK FOR 2024
CLAAS BENEFITS FROM HIGHER DEMAND
Harsewinkel, December 13, 2023. The CLAAS Group finished fiscal year 2023 with
excellent results. “Fiscal year 2023 was very successful,” says CLAAS CEO
Jan-Hendrik Mohr. “The substantial leap in sales in the past year reflects the
high demand for agricultural equipment. Once the supply chain situation eased
following the pandemic, we were able to systematically tackle the very high
order backlog and deliver our agricultural machinery to our customers around the
world, thanks to strong teamwork.”

CLAAS generated sales of €6.1 billion, equating to an increase of just under
25%. “Sales again improved significantly in North America, and especially in
Europe,” says CFO Henner Böttcher. “In addition, we managed to more than triple
income before taxes.” That particular indicator rose to €522.3 million from
€166.3 million in the previous year. Net income increased to €347.1 million.
“The successful issuance of €350 million in debt certificates and the increase
of the syndicated loan to €850 million with simultaneous extension of duration
allowed us to significantly strengthen our financial flexibility,” Böttcher
adds.
NEW PRODUCTS GAIN RECOGNITION – XERION 12 SERIES LARGE TRACTORS WIN AWARDS
CLAAS very successfully presented the XERION 12 Series in North America in
summer 2023. The most powerful CLAAS tractor of all time stands out, thanks to
its newly engineered triangular crawler track units and numerous assistance
systems, among other features. Such innovations are being noticed: At
Agritechnica, the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural technology, the
XERION 12.650 TERRA TRAC was named “Tractor of the Year 2024,” while the entire
series was honored with the “Farm Machine 2024” award in the large tractor
category. CLAAS also completed its combine harvester product family by launching
the EVION, a new series that is especially tailored for small farms. Together
with the LEXION and TRION series, CLAAS has the most modern and wide-ranging
combine harvester product range on the market.
INTELLIGENT AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT IN FOCUS
Through digital solutions, CLAAS is driving progress across the industry. The
innovation showcase at Agritechnica focused on new, smart machinery, as well as
the new CLAAS connect: a general digital ecosystem that further strengthens
connectivity between machinery and operators, between the cloud and partner
programs, and between farmers and sales partners. CLAAS connect is scheduled to
go online in selected sales regions in fall 2024. “Autonomy and artificial
intelligence are the trends that will shape the future of agricultural
technology, with smart agricultural equipment making an essential contribution
to sustainability and – above all – to food security,” says Mohr.
When developing new technologies, CLAAS relies on internal development
resources, as well as on alliances and partnerships. In September, CLAAS joined
forces with the start-up AgXeed and the long-standing partner Amazone to found
the world’s first multi-manufacturer autonomy alliance, 3A – Advanced Automation
& Autonomy. The goal of the collaboration is to advance the automation of
agricultural processes and the development of agricultural machinery that is
capable of working autonomously. In addition to showcasing a XERION 12.590 TERRA
TRAC with Autonomy connect for highly automated and autonomous processes in the
field, CLAAS also used Agritechnica to present a joint project with AgXeed and
thermal Drones. The project combines the use of drones and AI-based software to
spot fawn and breeding nests with automated and fully autonomous grassland
mowing by tractor or robot.
2023 MARKS MILESTONES IN THE CLAAS SUCCESS STORY
Two anniversaries also made fiscal year 2023 a special one for CLAAS: Fifty
years ago, the company’s first self-propelled forage harvester was built in
Harsewinkel. From the start, the machine stood out from the competition thanks
to its high reliability, outstanding efficiency, and low operating costs –
qualities that made a significant contribution to its leading position in the
global market. The family business also looked back on 20 years of CLAAS
standard tractors. The 150,000th CLAAS tractor rolled off the assembly line in
Le Mans in early 2019. Four years later, just in time for the 20th anniversary,
that figure was estimated to stand at 200,000.
CURRENT MARKET ENVIRONMENT CHALLENGING
“In the new fiscal year, however, we will have to prepare ourselves for a more
difficult market environment,” says Mohr. “While order backlog is returning to
normal, the pace of economic activity is slowing perceptibly in our core markets
in Central and Western Europe and North America, due in no small part to high
inflation and mounting geopolitical tensions. In light of current events, the
CLAAS Group will consistently pursue the strategy it has adopted and continue to
build on its strengths.” The Group will focus on the development of new products
and technologies. Technological solutions that have so far been viewed in
isolation are to be even more strongly connected to each other going forward and
made available to customers.

CLAAS LARGE TRACTOR RECEIVES COVETED INTERNATIONAL AWARD
CLAAS XERION 12.650 TERRA TRAC IS 2024 TRACTOR OF THE YEAR
Harsewinkel, Germany, November 13, 2023 – Pulling efficiency, comfort,
connectivity and sustainability convinced the International Tractor of the Year
jury at Agritechnica, the world’s leading ag equipment trade fair, to award the
new XERION 12.650 TERRA TRAC from CLAAS with its renowned award, beating three
other competitors.

With the XERION, CLAAS has been one of the technological drivers in large
tractor construction for 25 years. The XERION 12 Series, a newly developed
series with engine outputs of up to 653 hp, was launched in the summer of 2023.
Features include:
* Low engine speed concept 2.0, developing a maximum torque of up to 2,287
ft-lbs at 1,300 rpm
* CMATIC continuously variable transmission with a maximum speed of 25 mph
* Low engine speed working hydraulics with flow rates of up to 140 gpm
* Newly developed TERRA TRAC tracks and an unrivaled all-round view from the
four-point suspension cab, which has the largest amount of space of any
premium tractor
* Extreme load capacity and precise steering thanks to the fixed-frame design
with two steering axles.
The 50:50 weight distribution of the XERION 12 Series, with the top model XERION
12.650 TERRA TRAC, is highly suited for heavy duty pulling work in all speed
ranges, whether in air seeding, tillage, deep ripping or hauling the largest
grain carts.
“Despite the immense power at its disposal and its massive dimensions, the
XERION is very easy to handle, thanks to the latest generation of the CMATIC
continuously variable transmission with four mechanical ranges and assisted by
the CEMOS learning-based assistance system and information input to optimize
transmission, traction, and ballasting - with clear benefits in terms of
performance and fuel consumption”, said the jury.
HIGHEST RECOGNITION IN ITS 25TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR
“Traction efficiency has always been firmly anchored in the DNA of our
tractors,” explains Dr. Martin von Hoyningen-Huene, chief technology officer,
CLAAS Group, responsible for the tractors and implements division. “The XERION
stands out with its all-wheel drive concept with uncompromisingly efficient and
ground-friendly multi-pass traction transmission. With the XERION 12 Series, we
have taken the well-known strengths valued by XERION customers from all over the
world, further developed them and combined them with more than 25 years of TERRA
TRAC development and production experience into a strong, convincing overall
concept. The fact that the XERION, whose existence we owe personally to Helmut
Claas, is now receiving the TOTY Award for the first time in its 25th year of
market presence, is a great success for the entire development team.”
The XERION 12 Series includes two models, the 12.590 and the 12.650, which are
produced for the global market in both TERRA TRAC and wheeled TRAC versions at
the main CLAAS plant in Harsewinkel, Germany.
State-of-the-art onboard and offboard features for digital agriculture not only
allow automated steering, section control, variable rate and automatic
documentation, but also the optimization of machine and process performance with
CEMOS. From the end of 2024, the XERION 12 Series will be even more connected
thanks to the new CLAAS connect, which will provide the basis for further
development towards high automation of work processes and autonomy.
