VisualBoyAdvance comes with a wide range of features, including support for
DirectSound, better audio sample rate, and OpenGL. With a single-click on the
spacebar, you can even speed up the emulation process. Additionally, the
software offers you various cheats from the ‘Tools’ menu.

As mentioned earlier, this Game Boy emulator works with many kinds of files. If
you’ve saved some ROMs on the PC, you can import them directly into the program.
There’s no need to decompress the files. Most importantly, VisualBoyAdvance lets
you connect external hard drives, which you can use to import Game Boy titles on
the go.

When it comes to functionality, Visual Boy Advance lets you continue the game
from saved states or sessions. This is a convenient process, which ensures your

Compared to iDeaS, which is a Nintendo emulator, VisualBoyAdvance lets you
customize several configuration options. While using this software, you can
tweak the audio, directories, inputs, video or shortcuts. Such settings can be

OpenGL, increase the audio sample rate, access speed indicators on the screen,

to skip certain chapters or stages. The game comes with a ‘Cheats’ section,
which is easily accessible from the ‘Tools’ menu. You can save a good amount of
time and avoid the difficult or boring levels in the games.

While VBA works well in terms of graphics and configuration options, sound
emulation might be the only drawback of the program. If you launch the software
on a low-end computer, the audio breaks up and makes static noise at slower
speeds. Fortunately, you can prevent this hassle by increasing the frameskip and
choosing other options to save CPU resources. 

Visual Boy Advance gives tough competition to high-end emulators. While programs
like WinDS Pro offer a collection of game emulators, VBA is a standalone app
designed specifically for Game Boy titles. The only problem is that
VisualBoyAdvance doesn’t have support for ‘Game Link’. However, this was done to
prevent privacy issues and hardcore gamers have considered it a benefit.

Super Mario Kart, Pokemon Red, and Legend of Zelda, Visual Boy Advance will be

   It will not open no matter what I do..
   I downloaded it. It opened right away and then about 30 seconds after making
   the tiny screen bigger it shut down completely. I can't even get it to open
   long enough to shrink the screen again. Completely disappointed!

   This is a remarkable emulator that can run a plethera if fantastic games at
   full speed, with its ablity to handle cheats and still run the game well is
   fantastic I have never had any problems with this emulator. This is a must
   download foor any gba fan.
