 * THE FOUNDATION
   
   Mohamad Kobayter and his brothers AbdelGhani and Ahmad Kobayter founded
   KOBAYTER FRERES S.A.L. in the village of Kalamoun in the North of Lebanon.
   KOBAYTER FRERES S.A.L. began its activity in 1953 and launched “Al Wazir”
   brand. It was the first company in Lebanon to introduce branded olive oil in
   the market.
 * INAUGURATION OF A SALT REFINERY
   
   One of Lebanon's first refineries is built for the production of table salt
 * BUILDING OF A SOAP FACTORY
   
   KOBAYTER FRERES S.A.L. decided to expand into the production of perfumed and
   olive oil soaps. A soap factory was then built.
 * INSTALLATION OF THE FIRST OLIVE OIL MILL IN LEBANON
   
   KOBAYTER FRERES S.A.L. installed the first olive oil mill with a hydraulic
   press in Lebanon.
 * BUILDING OF AN OLIVE OIL REFINERY
   
   Following their market success and growth the company built an oil refinery.
   In the same year, the export of “Al Wazir” olive oil began to cater for a
   larger market share.
 * EXPANSION
   
   Following its success in 1988, “ KOBAYTER FRERES SAL” found an opportunity
   for expansion in the export of Olive Oil around the world. KOBAYTER SAL was
   thus founded as an independent company and has since then exported its
   products to a large variety of destinations.

THE FOUNDATION

Olive oil has played a prominent role in the culture and economy of our country.
Most of our olive groves are located in " El-Koura", a district in North Lebanon
popular for its olive tree cultivation and in "Chouf", a district of Mount
Lebanon.
We produce high quality olive oil of classical varieties such as "Ayrouni", a
Lebanese variety known for its high content of polyphenols and high content of
oleic acid and the variety "Souri".
The harvest starts at the " Pre-veraison" stage, when the olive fruit begins to
change color.
Our olives are harvested both manually and mechanically over large blankets.
The olives collected from the trees are separated from the olives collected from
the ground.
The olives are then transported in small containers within a few hours to the
oil mill.
Our olives are cold-milled at a temperature below 25°C in order to preserve the
aroma and the flavor.
Our oil is stored in stainless tanks in inert space (with nitrogen).
