Fairview Recovery Services helps people with the disease of alcoholism, chemical dependency, and co-occurring disorders live independent, healthy, and productive lives by providing a continuum of individualized services and care. WHAT WE OFFER We are a private nonprofit substance use disorder provider offering Part 820 Residential Redesign programs of Stabilization, Residential Rehabilitation and Reintegration programs licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. As the only licensed provider of long-term residential substance use disorder treatment in Broome County, our continuum of services emphasizes a holistic treatment model. We offer a wide range of substance use disorder treatment services including direct delivery of stabilization services, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), vocational counseling, recreation therapy, mental health services, case management, peer support, as well as a comprehensive continuum of housing programs to meet the needs of patients at various stages of recovery. We serve men and women over the age of 18 living in Broome and surrounding counties with a diagnosis of substance use disorder. We incorporate the needs of the whole patient in treatment, and seek to provide patients with support for recovery, leading to permanency, stability, self-reliance and self-determination. Brandy started as a Case Manager at the Addiction Crisis Center, obtained her CASAC-2 in 2017 and was then promoted to the Program Coordinator for 3 years before moving to the position of Clinical Supervisor until she left Fairview in 2020. Brandy returned in January, 2022 to be the Program Director of the Residential Rehabilitation Women's Program and has since obtained her CASAC-A. 607.722.8987 ext. 230 | brounds@frsinc.org × DON GARREN CASAC-A Director, VOICES Recovery Center In 2010, Don started his relationship with Fairview Recovery services as a third shift program aide at the Addictions Crisis Center. Over the years, Don has worked hard to successfully progress to a first shift program aide, head program aide and then Case Manager. In 2017, upon earning his CASAC license, he was promoted to Program Coordinator for the Addiction Stabilization Center and then was advanced to Admissions Coordinator, handling admissions for all the Fairview programs. In March of 2020, Don was promoted to become the Director of Voices Recovery Center. 607.821.7811 ext. 104 | dgarren@frsinc.org × ELIZABETH BAEZ BA, CASAC A Program Director, Residential Rehabilitation Women's Program Since 2012, Elizabeth "Liz" Baez has had a varied professional history working in human services, addiction, victim advocacy and Human Resources. For over a decade, Liz has volunteered in a variety of correctional facilities and treatment centers. While working as a Counselor at Helio Health's Integrated Outpatient, as well as their ROACA (Regional Open Access Center for Addiction) walk-in crisis unit she was also a part of the Trauma-Informed Care Committee. In 2014, Liz received her Bachelor of Art degree from SUNY Oswego and Liz has obtained her CASAC -T in 2018, CASAC in 2020 and has completed all Advanced CASAC requirements in 2021. 607.722.8987 x230 | ebaez@frsinc.org × HAZELL MCKENZIE MSW, CASAC-A Program Director, Residential Reintegration and Residential Rehabilitation Hazell McKenzie MSW, CASAC-A, Program Director, Residential Reintegration and Residential Rehabilitation, graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in History from York College. Hazell’s studies were focused on West Africa and the Transatlantic slave trade, however, her life experiences led her to become a Master of Social Work. Hazell is the creator of an innovative idea called “The smart diagnostic instrument” AKA the social work smart doll. It provides a tool for making disclosure of Childhood sexual abuse easier for children and allows the professional to access this information to tailor a specific intervention for that child. Hazell graduated from Binghamton University in 2019 with a Master of Social Work degree and most recently was the Clinical Coordinator for Residential Rehabilitation at Fairview Recovery Services. Prior to obtaining her Master of Social Work degree, Hazell worked as a Family Advocate, for a school-based program in Brooklyn, NY. This program provided mental health engagement, intervention, and follow-up support to help overcome resistance to treatment. (607) 722-8987 x253 | hmckenzie@frsinc.org × JEFFERY EADDY-EL CASAC Director, VOICES Recovery Center In 2019, Jeffery Eaddy-EL became the Director of VOICES Recovery Center, Fairview Recovery Services. Jeff completed ASA courses at Broome Community College in 2012. Soon after, he began his career at Fairview as an intern at the Addictions Crisis Center and eventually became employed part-time as a program aide in 2013. Jeff soon became full time and worked as a Case Manager in Fairview’s Supportive Living program and then on to the position of Recovery Coach at VOICES Recovery Center. During this period, Jeff also worked for HCA (Handicapped Children’s Association). With Jeff’s hard work, he received his CCAR Training/Ethics & MAT trainings, NYS certified recovery coach certifications, CRPA, NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate certification, and passed his IC & RC exam. In 2018, Jeff successfully received his CASAC, QHP Certification. 607821-7811 x104 | jeaddel@frsinc.org × SARAH TIFFANY CASAC-T Intake Coordinator & Clinical Billing Liaison Sarah Tiffany began her relationship with Fairview Recovery Services, Inc in 2015 by completing her internship at Fairview’s Supportive Living Program. Sarah transitioned from her internship experience to becoming as a full time Case Manager in Fairview’s Supportive Living Program. She served as Case Manager before being promoted to Intake Coordinator of the Residential Rehabilitation Program for a year. Sarah currently holds the position as Fairview’s Residential Rehabilitation Intake Coordinator and Clinical Billing Liaison. Sarah graduated with honors from SUNY Broome with an Associates in Chemical Dependency Counseling and achieved her CASAC-T. 607.722.8987 x230 | stiffany@frsinc.org × ALISA REYNOLDS MSW, CASAC A Residential Rehabilitation Program Director Alisa holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree (Major in Human Development) and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the State University of Binghamton. She is a certified CASAC level A. Alisa has an extensive history of working, providing and advocating for individuals living with substance use and mental health issues. Over the years, Alisa has worked with Fairview Recovery Services in many different capacities before venturing out to pursue other professional opportunities. She has now returned to Fairview Recovery Services to take the position of Program Director, Residential Rehabilitation Men's Program. 607.722.8987 ext. 253 | areynolds@frsinc.org × MEGAN D’INTRONO 607.722.8987 ext. 251 | mdintrono@frsinc.org × HEATHER ORNER MSEd, CASAC Master Counselor Clinical Director Heather holds an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Education with a Specialization in Family and Community Services and is also a New York State Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). Heather began her relationship with Fairview Recovery Services after several years of human service experience, through many different avenues, from teaching in Public School Districts to working in Corrections. Heather started her career, in the addictions field, as a Case Manager for the Fairview/Merrick Community Residence. She served as Case Manager for a year and a half before being promoted to Community Residence Program Coordinator. In August 2018, Heather gained additional experience as a NY State Foster Care Supervisor. Shortly, thereafter, Heather returned to Fairview as the Director of Residential and Clinical Supervision before being promoted to the Clinical Director. 607.722.8987 x232 | horner@frsinc.org × PATRICK HALEY, LMSW Pat received his Master's degree in Social Work from Syracuse University and his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from SUNY College at Old Westbury. Pat's career with Fairview began in 1998 when he became the Coordinator of Fairview's Supportive Living Program. He moved on to be a Fairview contract employee in Owego as the Coordinator of the Tioga County Single Point Access Program and then became the Clinical Director for Fairview prior to his most recent position as Fairview's Executive Director. 607.722.8987 ext. 224 | phaley@frsinc.org × MICHELE NAPOLITANO, MSED, CRC, CASAC Michele Napolitano holds a Master of Science in Education/Rehabilitation Counseling degree from Hunter College in New York City and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a New York State Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor. Michele began working for Fairview Recovery Services in July, 1995. In prior roles at Fairview she served as Program Supervisor and Program Director at the Addiction Stabilization Center and as Clinical Director of the agency. Before moving to Binghamton in 1995, Ms. Napolitano worked at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City’s East Harlem neighborhood as a psychiatric rehabilitation counselor. Ms. Napolitano’s New York experience also involved interning at St. Luke Roosevelt’s Smithers Adult Inpatient Alcoholism Unit as an Alcoholism Counselor. Michele is an advocate for the homeless in Broome County and also participates in a number of interagency planning groups. 607.722.8987 ext. 224 | mnapolitano@frsinc.org × STEPHEN BARTON CASAC Advanced Counselor Program Coordinator, Shelter Plus Care Stephen Barton graduated from Broome Community College in 2012 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science/Chemical Dependency Counseling. Stephen started his career in the addictions field as an intern for the Addiction Stabilization Center and was soon hired by Fairview as a Program Aide for the Community Residence Program. Shortly thereafter, Stephen was promoted to the position of Case Manager for the Supportive Living Program. In May 2013, Stephen gained additional experience as an Outpatient Counselor for UHS’ New Horizons Program. In February 2016, Stephen had returned to Fairview as Director of the Addictions Crisis Center. 607.722.8987 ext. 240 | sbarton@frsinc.org × ALAN TAYLOR M.S., CRC, CASAC 2 Program Coordinator, Career Choices Unlimited Alan Taylor earned Master of Science degrees in both Educational Psychology & Statistics and Rehabilitation Counseling from the University at Albany. He has also studied chemical dependency counseling at Sage Graduate School. His undergraduate work (B.A.) in psychology and art was done at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh. He is both a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and a Credentialled Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC2). His past credentials include: Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional-Diplomate (in Pennsylvania) and Certified Criminal Justice Professional. He enjoys attending professional conferences and trainings and has presented papers at certain regional conferences. He has worked in the addictions field for many years, primarily in outpatient settings such as the Addictions Care Center of Albany, Creative Health Services (where he was head counselor) and the County of Oswego Council on Alcoholism and Addictions. Prior to coming to Fairview, he created and developed vocational rehabilitation programs in two chemical dependency outpatient rehabilitation programs in the Albany area. Alan has also developed and facilitated co-occurring disorder groups. 607.722.8987 ext. 247 | ataylor@frsinc.org × CATHI GIL LMSW MICA Social Worker Cathi received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and Human Services from Eisenhower College of Rochester Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in Social Work from Binghamton University, while working in various positions at a local non-profit agency. In addition, Cathi went on to receive her Associates Degrees in Chemical Dependency Counseling and Criminal Justice. After working more than five years as a Mental Health Counselor, at a local agency, she came to work at Fairview as the MICA Social Worker/Case Manager. 607.722.8987 ext. 235 | cgil@frsinc.org × AMY ELLIOTT CASAC 2 Director, Addiction Stabilization Center Amy Elliott began her relationship with Fairview Recovery Services, Inc in the Fall of 2009 while fulfilling two concurrent internships in the Community Residence Program. Ms. Elliott quickly excelled from her internship experience to working as a full time Case Manager in Fairview’s Supportive Living Program. She served as Case Manager for two years before being promoted to the Shelter Plus Care Program and on to the Shelter Plus Care Program Coordinator. Ms. Elliott graduated with honors from Broome Community College with an Associates in Applied Science of Chemical Dependency and has obtained her CASAC 2. 607.722.4080 x328 | aelliott@frsinc.org × ALLISON BRUET CASAC 2 Supportive Housing Program Director Allison Bruet earned an Associate’s Degree in Arts, Liberal Arts & Sciences from Broome Community College in 2010, and continued on to graduate with honors from Marywood University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology. She is currently attending classes at Broome Community College to meet OASAS educational criteria in Chemical Dependency for credentialing as a CASAC. Allison gained experience working for three years at the Children’s Home of Wyoming Conference before joining the Supportive Living team at Fairview Recovery Services. Allie has worked in the Supportive Living Women's Program for several years, most recently as Program Coordinator and currently promoted to the Position of Program Director. 607.722.8987 ext. 233 | abruet@frsinc.org × DAWN VANKUREN Dawn VanKuren holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development from Binghamton University. Currently she is the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director of Fairview Recovery Services, while also providing support to the Executive staff and Board of Directors. Dawn joined Fairview in 2016 with over 15 years of Director and Case Management experience working with local non-profit agencies who serve dually diagnosed, mentally ill and homeless individuals. In addition, Dawn has an extensive history of serving on several community service committees. She has been part of the Southern Tier Homeless Coalition for the past twelve years serving on the Executive Board as Treasurer and previously as Secretary. Prior to her experience in the non-profit sector, Dawn was an Administrative Assistant with a large manufacturing corporation and a Stenographer for the City of Binghamton. 607.722.8987 ext. 241 | dvankuren@frsinc.org × JOHN CONTI John Conti is the Director of Finance for Fairview Recovery Services. Having held this position since November 2017, John’s responsibilities are daily accounting functions, month end closings, financial reporting, and budgets. Other experience includes Plant Controller at AES Westover and Director of Finance at Good Shepherd Village at Endwell. John has served on the board of director of Mom’s House for over 20 years, a not-for-profit state licensed free daycare for single parents going to school full time.
