mission much bigger than ourselves.

Job Summary

of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced
technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems
engineering and launch.

The Infrastructure Services and Operations subdivision (IS&O)) is the technical
and programmatic advisor to the National Reconnaissance Office’s Mission
Operations Directorate (MOD) in operating and protecting missions. We are
looking for a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to deliver advanced
solutions and ensure the capture of emerging capabilities and missions across
the NRO’s operational community.

This position requires 100% on site work in Chantilly, VA

processes related to readiness and recommending improvements/modifications as
   applicable
 * Developing and assessing Concepts of Operations (ConOps)
 * Identifying and analyzing operational risks, and the associated mitigation
   planning
 * Interacting with stakeholders, including: Aerospace program offices,
customers, and Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) engineers
 * Preparing reports and briefings, and presenting recommendations to customers
   and Aerospace management
 * Working with MOD elements and acquisition offices on developing digital
   models and baselines
 * Lead and execute studies on problems impacting mission operations

What You Need to be Successful

 * Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
 * At least 3 years of experience in systems engineering or technical roles
directly related to space or related ground applications.
 * Demonstrated experience in digital engineering
 * This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and
polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required
   to obtain a security clearance.

In addition to the above, the Senior Project Engineer requires the following:

 * Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience
 * At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering or technical roles
directly related to space mission operations.
 * Direct experience with system integration, verification and validation, or
   operations transition
 * A strong technical background in systems engineering, with interest in
engineering disciplines that support real-time satellite mission operations
 * Ability to work in a dynamic technical environment with customers, SETA and
   other FFRDCs

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

 * An advanced degree in engineering, science, or mathematics
 * Experience leading or coordinating technical teams
 * Demonstrated experience in Agile software development
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to include oral and written
