WHO WE ARE

The Sacramento Valley Advocates for a Sustainable Future is an organization
serving ten counties in the Lower Sacramento Valley Region.



Cars hurt our society in many ways, including causing climate change,
contributing to Obesity, homelessness, and the housing crisis. Cars have a place
in our lives, but shouldn't be our only option. SVASF makes this happen in a
number of ways


ACTIVE TRANSPORT

We promote active transport, such as walking and biking


PUBLIC TRANSIT

We advocate for public transit


MIXED USAGE ZONING

We fight for high-density, mixed use development


ENDING THE CAR MONOPOLY


WE FIGHT TO MAKE OWNING A CAR A CHOICE, NOT A REQUIREMENT.

We believe that the Sacramento area can and should be free from required car
use. The lack of wanting to drive and not being able to should not harm an
individual’s freedom to access what they need.

We believe that the path to a thriving, successful city is through projects to
protect bikers, encourage high density, promote walkability, and create public
transit options wherever possible.


OUR ACTION AREA:

We fight for change in Amador, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San
Joaquin, Solano, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba counties
