Fonant is a small specialist web services company, based between Worthing and
Brighton on the south coast of England. At Fonant we pride ourselves on our
attention to detail.

ourselves, including hosting on our own servers located in Hemel Hempsted and
Helsinki. This means that we can fix any problems without having to rely on

INVESTIGATORY POWERS ACT 2016

The Investigatory Powers Act 2016 become law on 29 November 2016. As far as
Fonant Ltd understands, we are not a "a telecommunications operator", or, if we
are, we have not yet been consulted about this by the Secretary of State (as
required by the Act). As a consequence of this, we do not consider that we are
required to retain "internet connection records" of our customers for a year.

Should we become aware that Fonant Ltd is considered to be "a telecommunications
operator", in the terms of the above Act, we will inform our customers of this
fact. Unfortunately it would be illegal to disclose whether Fonant Ltd had been
served a warrant to retain internet connection records or not.
