A WALK IN AUTUMN WOODS

Autumn Harvest Candle

With September almost here, I am dreading the onslaught of all things Pumpkin
Spice, a scent and taste I am not a fan of at all. Don't get me started - LOL.
If you are looking for a far more nuanced and sophisticated fall scent, this
candle is a wonderful choice.

FAVORITE DRESSES ALL ON SALE

Smoke and Mirrors Long Sleeve Tweed Jackie Dress

These are a collection of dresses I love - many I have posted on before, some I
have in my closet, and they are all now on sale. All are great dresses to
transition from summer to fall, and many would be wonderful all the way through
to the holidays.

TORTOISESHELL FOR FALL

Tortoise Catena Neclace

With its stunning color palette of blacks and browns, nothing is a prettier
choice for fall jewelry and accessories than tortoiseshell. I have curated some
favorites that are a great way to accessorize your autumn wardrobe.

FALL FLORALS

Top in Floral Crinkle Chiffon

A big trend for this fall that I love is florals in moodier autumn colors. It is
quite chic and an easy transition from summer to fall. Also a perfect look for
tropical climates like here - lighter fabrics but in harvest colors.  I have
rounded up some great choices.

THE STATEMENT NECKLACE FOR FALL

Malachite Marble Catena Necklace

I recently posted on malachite in home decor and jewelry. It is such an elegant
and timeless choice. I just found this very dramatic malachite necklace. This is
quite a statement piece.

ELEGANT FALL DECOR

Marble Pumpkin

Although here in South Florida is the land of endless summer, I love seasonal
decorating. I always look especially forward to fall and Halloween decorating. I
am always on the lookout this time of year for fall decor. I have found pieces
that will work all season and are quite elegant.

GEMSTONE NECKLACES FOR FALL

Yellow Tiger Eye Gemstone Necklace

I posted a little while back about these beautiful multi strand gemstone chip
necklaces. I have received a lot of very positive feedback from followers who
ordered them and love them. I ordered one in lapis lazuli myself and it's
beautiful.

FALL LOOKS - THE TRENCH COAT & MORE

AT Weekend Quilted Trench Coat

The trench coat is a classic style that is timeless, elegant, effortless,
understated, and powerful. It always makes me think of Audrey Hepburn in
Breakfast at Tiffany's.

JOHN DERIAN FOR TARGET THANKSGIVING COLLECTION

John Derian for Target

Decoupage artist, atelier owner, and tastemaker John Derian has a line of
Thanksgiving and autumn items that launches today during the wee hours of the
morning. Target for some reason loves to launch designer lines between midnight
and 5 a.m. to ruin everyone's sleep. It just launched at 3 a.m.

DECORATING FOR FALL WITH ACORNS

Charlotte Moss

I have always thought acorns are so beautiful. Alas, I have not had acorns on my
live oaks - I know that acorn production decreases dramatically on older oak
trees. If I did, I would collect some and fill a beautiful blue and white
Chinese bowl with them.

GREAT FINDS - MINI PUMPKIN COCOTTE

Staub Mini Pumpkin Cocotte

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days start today for prime members. One of my favorite
picks is these Staub Mini Pumpkin Cocottes at 56% off. Oven to table, perfect
for individually sized cobblers, gratins, pot pies, or use them for soup, chili,
candles, or candies. This is a mini version of Staub's iconic pumpkin cocotte in
stoneware. I would set the Thanksgiving table with these and serve a wonderful
homemade soup in them like butternut squash.

BLUE AND WHITE FOR FALL

Everyday Elegance Collection

Setting the table for fall need not mean harvest colors. I much prefer blue and
white any time of year. Here blue and white French aptware china, bamboo
flatware, a blue Canton vase, and mini pumpkin tureens set the stage.

FALL FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS

Wicker Urn with Dried Flowers

Fall is a wonderful time of year to display dried flowers. I especially like
dried hydrangeas, but dried baby's breath, amaranthus, herbs, grasses, and
branches with colorful leaves all work well. This is a stunning example above.

DECORATING FOR FALL

Thanet House - Southampton

This wonderful home is the Thanet House at 143 South Main Street in Southampton,
New York. For those of you who know Southampton, it is right in the heart of the
village.

Built in 1913 for the son of Dr. Theodore Gaillard Thomas, who is often credited
as the founder of the Southampton summer colony, this imposing brick dwelling
was given the name Thanet House. I have seen several current photos of the home
and the massive blue and white Chinese "vases" are always in the photos. I
wonder if they are brought into shelter in the winter?

I have not posted on my favorite shoes Rothy's in quite a while, and there is so

favorite The Point.

FALL WARDROBE

Frances Valentine

I am such a fan of Frances Valentine. I especially appreciate it this time of
year, because their fall version of a "cold weather" wardrobe is perfect for
those of us in warmer and tropical climates. October 1st is this Sunday and it
will be 87 degrees here. Not exactly tweed and corduroy weather.

FALL FLOWER ARRANGING

Charlotte Moss

I thought it would be fun today to get some inspiration for fall floral
arrangements. My favorite approach is to combine fall flowers with a blue and
white container.

FABULOUS FALL FINDS

CCC

So fall has just begun, Halloween is more than a month away, it is a high of 89
degrees here today, and HomeGoods has Christmas things arriving. A girl could
get confused! I had to share the skeleton scorpions I found yesterday for my
Halloween decorating - I got a pair to hang out with my mini white pumpkins (and
skeleton mermaids and alligators) at the front entrance.

PUMPKIN CANDLES

Glass Figural Pumpkin Woods Candle

Candles in darling pumpkin containers are everywhere this time of year. They are
a great choice for fall and Halloween decorating because they scent your home
and decorate it at the same time. I have found some I really like - they come in
three sizes in lots of colors and scents. And unlike many I have seen in the $30
to $40 price range, these start at just $5.00.

FALL IN FLORIDA

Lilly Pulitzer

Saturday is the first day of fall, but here in South Florida we live in the land
of endless summer. So autumn and winter wardrobes really just mean adding long
sleeves instead of sleeveless and pants in lieu of shorts (if you wish to). I
think I have had a jacket or coat on once or twice in four years! The high
tomorrow will be 87 degrees.
